      I have used Alvin B to repair appliances in the past dba A-1 Appliances. In January I paid Alvin to replace a part in a dryer in a rental I own. The dryer electrical panel had to be ordered and paid for immediately. I paid him $587.57 as requested. I have called him many times as well as sent texts for updates. At first, he kept telling me the part was back ordered. Finally, I had to buy a new dryer for the tenant and stored the old one so it could be repaired when the part came in. After several months it became apparent Alvin was not going to deliver the part as promised. I asked to be reimbursed which he agree to. He set numerous dates for me to meet him to reimburse me, and did not show up. He used excuses like his wife was in the *** in the hospital, he was out of town visiting his daughter, and on and on. He has hung up on me and now ignores all calls and texts. Essentially, he has stolen $587.57 from me.

      Alvin B****** begin working on our Fridge on Sunday, September 4, 2022- We paid him $365 that day for service he stated he would come back out to complete. Promised to come back on Tuesday, September 6th, no answer no update. He called and stated he was waiting on the part which will cost an additional $135, he received that payment on Friday when he came back out, yet the fridge is still not working. He stated he will come back out a rewire the fridge, yet to this date still no answer or work completed on my fridge resulting in a loss of $500.00.

      I found a phone number for Alvin B******, appliance repairman online. He came to my home on January 28, 2022 to repair my dryer. I had guessed that a belt was broken. He removed the broken belt. My husband gave him a check of $200.00 for the house call and to order the new belt. I called him once a week throughout the month of January and into Feb. He kept telling us the part hadn't come in. With the bottleneck of supplies from ships etc. we thought that was a logical problem. My husband looked up the part number on the internet and ordered it himself on Feb 15, 2022. He called Alvin to let him know the part was coming in 2 days. He said he would call when he was on his way. Never came and won't answer the phone. I finally looked him up. He is just a thief! His phone # is ###-###-####

      On November 9, 2021 Mr. Alvin with Appliance Repair came to my home to diagnosis my Maytag gas dryer for repair. After taking the back panel off where the control panel is he determined that the timer was bad but did not have any equipment to test this part. He then told me it would be cheaper to buy a new dryer and I owed his $85.00 for his service call. He was in my home for 10 minutes. I think this is a scam with this gentleman to get a service fee for potential repair on appliances. Without a tester for the parts there is no way to tell which is bad. I did call him on November 10 and asked this question about how he determined the timer was bad and he told me he could just look at the part and tell. In the meantime my husband's boss came to look at the dryer and determined the thermal fuse was bad after checking the part with a tester. I think this man's scam should be stopped, this should not be allowed to continue. (Mr. Alvin did not leave any paperwork for this so called service call)
