My girlfriend and I attended the ****** Pancakes and Booze Art Show in ******, **, on July 17th, 2021. I'm writing this review now because I've just seen an ad for a coming Pancakes and Booze Art Show, and our experience at the one we attended dissuades me from Good things: The art and artists at the show were awesome. It seemed like every art medium and taste was represented. There was fine painting, digital art, pop art, comic book art, abstract works, sculpture, jewellery, body painting, clothes and fashion artists, and more. We took time to speak to different artists, many of whom were friendly, enthusiastic, and had plastic ******* at their tables to prevent the spread of germs. My girlfriend and I got drinks at the bar, which looked very busy, but the wait to be served by the bartenders was shorter than I expected Bad things: The venue was extremely small relative to the number of attendees and so it was highly crowded. We had to physically brush up against dozens of people in order to move around, which was unexpected for an art show and possibly even dangerous during a pandemic. The music in some parts of the outdoor area was too loud for conversation and was even uncomfortable during the louder parts of some songs. The worst part of the evening was the lack of pancakes being served in a meaningful way. Let me be clear that pancakes WERE being served, but the process of cooking them was far too slow to meet demand. I don't feel it was reasonable for the organizers to advertise that attendees could get all the pancakes they wanted. The Pancakes and Booze Art Show delivered on booze and art, but not pancakes.Explanation on "lack" of pancakes: After standing in the pancake line for 15 minutes with barely any movement, I decided to see what was causing the delay while my girlfriend held our place. There were only two griddles in use which could turn out 12 pancakes (or 6 plates) every 3-4 minutes. In addition, adding the toppings to each plate took another minute or two per batch of pancakes. This means that serving 6 people their pancakes took 4-6 minutes. This doesn't sound extreme, but I counted about 35 people in the pancake line ahead of me and my girlfriend at that point. The math falls out such that we would have waited about 30 minutes more on top of the 15 minutes we had already waited. We didn't think that waiting 45 minutes for two pancakes was reasonable, especially in the summer heat of ******. What's more, there was a large number of people in line BEHIND me and my girlfriend. Those people would have needed to wait more than 45 minutes for 2 pancakes.
