On Friday, April 29, 2022, my husband and I came to Opelousas to take care of some business. While there, we stopped at this truck stop to grab something to drink. We chose two bottles of Dasani water because they were being advertised as 2 for $3.50. While waiting in line to check out, my husband began drinking his water. When the cashier scanned the items, they came up as regular price. She went to the cooler and retrieved the advertisement indicating the sale on the items. She called her manager over the phone. The manager told her that she would not change the price. We advised that we would not pay more than was advertised and we placed both bottles on the counter and left. As we drove away, we saw a heavy-set Caucasian woman running toward our vehicle. My husband stopped. The lady approached our vehicle and began screaming that he had to pay for the water. He explained the situation to her. This lady then states that she would call the police, so we turned around and followed her back into the store. She called the police and stated that the "vendor" placed that sign and that "these people always want something for free". After causing a ruckus. She retreated to the rear of the store and left a clerk, who had only been working there a month, to deal with the issue. After about maybe 20 minutes the clerk called the manager inquiring about the police. The manager said she canceled it. So, we left. On our way out of Opelousas we saw a sheriff deputy at the store so we went back. The manager, Lisa lied about the police not coming so that she could frame the story the way she wanted. While the deputy was there, she said the "person above her" said she could waive the charge. We were like okay and went to pay. She refused payment. So this woman was willing to write off the price of the water rather than take the payment. This woman is unprofessional and disrespectful. She should not be in charge of any establishment. She is definitely not management material.

My wife and I stopped at this store to utilize the restroom and purchase water. We grabbed two ****** waters because it was on sale 2/$3.50. As we were waiting in line, I opened my bottle and took a sip. The price rang up for the full amount. We informed the cashier that they are advertised 2/$3.50. She walks to the coolers to pull the tag and to let the manager know via telephone. The manager, whom we haven't laid eyes on, informed the cashier that the **** vendor put that price up and not her so she didn't have to honor that price. I told her to let the manager know that by law she has to sell it for the shelf price. She once again refused. Therefore, I mentioned that I am willing to pay the advertise price but if she doesn't want to honor it then I do not need to pay for these items, regardless if one was open. So, me and my wife left both bottles on the counter and walked out. I was pulling off when the manager comes out of the store yelling toward my vehicle. Again, we have never seen this woman until this moment, so we had no idea who this person was. She practically reaches in my vehicle in an aggressive manner stating that I had to pay for the open bottle. I tell her that I would gladly pay the sales price and she once again says that she didn't have to give me the sales price. So, I again said that I wasn't paying. She threaten to call the police. I state that if you want to make a bid deal about it, the go ahead, I will wait until they arrive and we can settle it then. We all go back inside to call the cops. In doing so, she makes this off hand comment that "Yall" just want sh!t for free. She then goes back to her office while me and my wife waited for the cops. After 10 minutes she comes out telling the cashier to write the product off. She would rather lose money than take the sales price. Police were allowed to view film which corroborated our story. The cops agreed with us since I was willing to pay. The manager's name is Lisa. Worse experience ever!!!
