February 23, 2023 The water to my residence was shut off for non-payment because of a banking issue. No warning was given nor were we contacted to inform us of the shut off. I called to see what was going on and was told that a door handle placard was placed on my property about a week ago. I informed the gentleman that no door handle placards were on any of the doors. He said the placard was taped to outside bricks with electrical tape. I called the on-call supervisor and offered to meet her and pay so that my kids could have baths. Allison (who would not give me her last name) was very unprofessional and condescending. It baffles me as to why someone on call, would not do their job! I persisted to try and get the water turned on she began insulting and ridiculing me, even going as far as saying "I shouldn't be out writing hot checks and if I wouldn't be writing hot checks my kids would have water tonight". This lady knows nothing about my family, my personal situation, or anything about the banking issue which caused the problem in the first place. It baffles me as to why someone would employ such an evil hearted person, much less put her in a supervisory position. This was a January bill the water was shut off before the end of February. A simple phone call would have remedied the situation. It is 2023!! why can't we pay on-line?Initial Complaint

Water bills are due on the 10th of every month. I utilize my bank's automatic bill payment service to pay my water bill. I setup the automatic payment to be delivered by the 5th of every month. I confirmed, with my bank, that payment was mailed on March 30th, 2022, to be delivered by April 5th, 2022. The business does not accept electronic payments from my bank so a paper check must be mailed to the business. Payment was either lost in transit or lost / mishandled by the business and payment was not posted to my account. On April 16th, without any attempt to notify me, an employee of the business arrived at my residence to shut off the water service. I contacted the business by phone to inquire as to why my payment was not posted. 26 months of consecutive payments to the business had no influence, nor did an offer to pay over the phone via credit card. Water was shut off to my residence. My wife travelled to the business and paid the water bill, late fee, and $50 reconnection fee in person. The business advised that water service would be restored right away. As of 9 pm, I still have no water service to my residence.
