My triplex sustained damage from Hurricane ***. I hired Ridgestar Roofing and Contracting to complete all repairs on my property and to work directly with my homeowner's insurance. Ridgestar completed the roof repairs, but no other repairs were completed. The remaining damages were to my two apartments on the second floor. Apartment 2 is currently leased, but still as damages that I fear *** cause harm to the tenants if not repaired relatively soon. Apartment 1 was damaged to the point that I was not able to lease it. Ridgestar made no repairs on either apartment. I have had to make several repairs to the unit on my own to try to get Apartment 1 to a point where I can lease it and stop it from costing me more money.The initial estimate that I was provided by Ridgestar Roofing for the roof replacement was $16,643.21. The company spoke with my home insurance provider who informed them (after the repairs had been made) that they valued the roof at just over $25,000. So, Ridgestar raised their estimate by $10,000. Per my Claims Specialist at ********************* on December 13th, 2022, a representative for Ridgestar informed Nationwide that all repairs on the property had been completed and began immediately demanding payment, constantly harassing me on a daily basis before the rest of the contracted repairs were made on the property. Ridgestar has now started sending me harassing emails saying that they are going to file a lien on my property.Initial Complaint

I signed a contingency contract on 0924/21 for roof damage from hurricane UDA with Representative *******************. After 2 insurance settlements we paid a **** deposit via Zelle on 12/16/2021. **** from email ********************** **** from email ********************* To a ************************* at # **********.We never recieved an itemed reciept for what was ordered. Supposed to be a netal roof. Never recieved a receipt for the ****. Never recieved an estimated date of install or completion. **** said it could be 3xweeks due to the holiday abd should be installed the 1st week of January 2022. We never heard from them. I finally reached out to the only contact info I had on the contact an email address. **** in the office did send a receipt foe my ****. But put "venmo" not zelle. No itemized receipt or datea if service the one receipt she did send was for shingles. We were supposed to have metal. I messaged her back immediately with no response. A week later I was panicked feeling we'd been scammed. **** texted me back days later, saying my roof would be installed on Friday,( January 21,2022) . It never showed, no calls either. I askedvmark, via text what's going on. He replied it would bec installed "Saturday or Monday ". Those both passed in the same fashion. No call, no show. I called the number I sent my Zelke deposit too. It was a *************************, he claimed to be the owner. Saying g he knew nothing of my order. Said material shortage, worker shortage, covid and a new baby all contributed. I asked for an itemized rexept and date of install and completion date within 24 hrs. He texted the next day saying g he was waiting to hear from his netal shop where my order was. I never heard back He did ask the question tine I talked if I wanted the deposit. I said I teally need my roof . But in 24 hrs if no I fo then I would have to have my deposit and a letter of release, without penalty, from my ********************************** completion 6 weeks from depositCustomer response
