Mr. ***** came to my home on May 9 2023 to address a leak in my hall bathroom. The leak had caused water to leak under my flooring. He opened the wall, addressed a small leak in the pipe joints, TOLD ME MY SON WAS NOT CLOSING THE SHOWER CURTAIN ALL THE WAY AND THAT'S WHY MY FLOORS WERE RUINED, and went on his way. The bill was $500!!! Prior to having the flooring replaced and the wall closed up, floated and painted, I noticed water was still leaking under my house. I called Mr. ***** again to address the leak. He came out, tighted "something"under the house and left, claiming the leak was fixed. Yesterday C & B plumbing came to my home for a 3rd time because the night before when my son took a bath, I again noticed a waterfall of water pouring under my home. This time I was told the gasket in the overflow drain was cracked. Again, he told my MY SON SHOULD NOT LET THE WATER GET ABOVE THE OVERFLOW PLATE AND IT IS MY SON'S FAULT THE WATER IS LEAKING. He said he replaced the gasket and the leak was fixed and left. He did not even speak to me before leaving my house and called as he was pulling out the driveway. When my boyfriend got here yesterday he went under the house, I filled up the tub and pulled the drain and guess what... WATER LEAKING UNDER MY HOUSE. We removed the plate to the overflow drain and found that the gasket had not been replaced, but a small amount of putty was shoved in hole. This morning Mr. ***** returned to my home with said gasket in his hand and said he would have to open up the wall again to install the gasket!! We told him NO, he is not allowed into my home, and we would like a full refund so we can have the issue properly repaired. ONCE AGAIN HE CALLED MY SON STUPID AND SAID HE HAS NO COMMON SENSE. Mr. ***** then offer to give me $100 or MAYBE half of my money back. When we told him that was unacceptable and we needed the full amount, his response was get a lawyer. You can see in the photos the receipt stating that pipes were replaced, when they were NOT. And a photo of the replaced "gasket" (putty) that was installed. At this point I am unsure how to proceed. I intend to contact the Louisiana Board of Plumbing AND contact small claims court but I don't even know how to start that process. This is a warning to everyone, especially single mothers, DO NOT CALL THIS MAN FOR PLUMBING REPAIRS!!!! Any advice on how to proceed is welcome. I will not allow this man to rob me. Especially after $16,000.00 of wok has just been done to my home due to water damage. At this point my wall has to be opened again and the overflow drain has to be replaced. THIS HAS BEEN THE ISSUE ALL ALONG AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED ON THE FIRST VISIT. The most infuriating part of the entire situation is the 70 year old man blaming my 16 year old son for the issue. Calling my son stupid and saying he has no common sense. The entire point of an overflow drain is the catch the overflow water and regardless of how much water is put in the tub, the OVERFLOW drain should NOT leak into and under my home!

My name is ***** *******, owner of C&B Plumbing Repairs,Inc.  I have been a Master Plumber for 30 years and owner of this company for about 25 years.  I am sorry to hear of a customer's complaint of our services, but I am glad to tell the "rest of the story."   On May 9th 2023, we repaired a leak at ****** ******** home.  When she called again, she said she had another leak, so we went back to her home to diagnos the problem.  She had no leaks from any drain pipes.   What I discovered was that the overflow pipe on top of the tub had a cracked gasket.  She was allowing her high school son to fill the tub while he showered and it continued to overflow the pipe on top of the tub.  The purpose of the overflow pipe is to keep the water from overflowing on the floor.  Continuing to run water this way will eventually deteriorate the gasket.

When I went back in the morning to try and remedy the situation and talk to Ms ******* she sent her boyfriend outside to talk to me.  I tried to explain why she was having that problem and he just shrugged his shoulders.  I then offered to return half of the money I had charged her 3 months before, just to try and make peace with her, not that i felt I had done anything wrong.  She refused and replied, " I want $500!"  or else i will bring you to court.  I then said " I will see you in court.'

I am rejecting this response because:

That is correct. I did not allow C&B Plumbing into my home for a 4th time. While Mr. ***** would like to blame my 16 year old son for this issue that is not the case. He keeps saying there were no leaks however the findings of another plumber on 9/1/23 tell a different story. Please see the attached photos of the overflow pipe that was pulled from behind my tub. The pipe is cracked, this should have been noticed on the first visit when my wall was cut open. Additionally, the new plumber found pipes under my home that had broken gaskets that were in fact leaking. Please see the attached photos showing additional issues. I don't feel that the length of time between the first visit and the 4th visit (which I did not allow him to enter my home) are relevant as the issue was never resolved to begin with. The stress of finding that the leak was not fixed 3 times is sufficient cause to not allow this man into my home for a 4th time. I have had to pay a different plumber to successfully find the CRACKED pipe and broken gaskets and replace them in addition to the $500 that I paid C & B Plumbing. I did send my "Boyfriend" out to speak with him on 9/1/23, because Mr. ***** is stubborn and kept telling me there was no leak when in fact there has ALWAYS been a leaking pipe. which is the reason I contacted C&B Plumbing to begin with. This has nothing to do with my son or my boyfriend and everything to do with the fact that C & B Plumbing failed to diagnose and repair the original problem that I paid $500 dollars to have repaired.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******
