On August 8, 2022 my dog was groomed at Just for Fido and I received a call from the groomer stating that he had a bad nosebleed during the drying process due to his age. He has been groomed at this business for over five years every 8-12 weeks and has never experienced a reaction to the blow dryer. When I picked my dog up, he was lethargic, was coughing/gagging, had glassy eyes, and would not lift his head. I took him to my vet later that day and the vet was uncertain what was wrong with him other than being exhausted and advised to watch him. By August 10, 2022, he was progressively worsening and vet appointment was made. At this visit, the vet determined that his trachea was bruised and edematous and gave him cough medicine to allow his coughing and gagging to decrease to allow his trachea to heal. He also noted burst blood vessels in each eye. He felt it was a type of strangulation from the tether at the groomer. I visited the business early morning of August 16, 2022, and spoke with the groomer. I shared with her my dog's injuries and his two visits to the vet. She denied being aware of what happened to him when I inquired directly to her in-person. I asked for Brady S., the owner of Just for Fido, to call me. I did not hear from Brady until late on August 18, 2022 which was 10 days after the incident and after I posted a bad business review on Facebook the previous evening. On the call, Brady personally acknowledged that my dog experienced asphyxiation at his grooming and that the situation was not handled appropriately. He also stated that "at least he has not killed a dog yet" and that "he has plenty of customers" when I told him I was going to continue to be vocal about the incident at his business to hopefully prevent it from happening to anyone else's dog. If the business had just been honest and not been deceitful, my dog could have received the medical care he needed immediately. The business has declined and I do not recommend.
