I hired Slidell Moving to manage my move from ********* to **************. Upon delivery of my items many were missing including a very expensive armoire. I have called and tried for over a week to get an answer about where the rest of my belongings are only to be told they will look into it and call me back and then never call back. Ive reached out for updates numerous times. In addition to 6 or so boxes the armoire that is missing is easily over 300 lbs and huge. I have no idea how someone could lose a piece of furniture that size. To make matters worse, the armoire is almost packed with items from my home.Business response

As we regret that **************** move did not occur with incident, The piece in question was signed for has receving @ delivery. The piece did not come up for 2 weeks.
Some missing itemsclaimed wine holder, Bedroom decor and Mirror carton are lsted.
While Search is ongoing shipper was able to start claim process.
Claim is currently being processed.
Hoping to have claim completed next 30 days.

I know moving companies can lose items all the time. But this company lost two of our boxes that we had specifically said to take care of more than our other items. They had Native American paintings in them (4). They were painted by my late great grandmother and personally passed down to me before she died. We told the company this. The company and movers were told beforehand multiple times that these items were priority and important that they make it to our new home. We told them multiple times that these are the sentimental/invaluable and cannot be replaced. They agreed and said they would take special care of these items. But they did not do that because the items did not make it to our new home. When they delivered our items, we went through the list and found that two boxes were missing. The movers kept saying Dont worry you have everything here. You just have to unpack and look. Movers mishandle items or mislabel items all the time so they are here They told us to just sign the document claiming we had all our items and for the two boxes that were missing we can file a claim with insurance. I kept disagreeing but we were basically bullied into signing the document so that they could leave and go deliver to other houses. I did not want any type of payment from the insurance, I just want my paintings back. I have tried following up with the company but cant seem to get anyone on the phone or respond to my emails. I did speak with someone from the company when we first did the claim but she said she is not the right person and she would tell the ** to call me. He never did. I left voicemails as well multiple times. Either way, the fact that they knew these items were of importance and yet lost them makes me think that this was deliberate. I now have an assumption that the movers stole them.. Thank you for taking the time to read all of this. Please let me know if you need me to provide anything additional information.Customer response
