01-24-2022 To whom it may concern: I Geraldine B***** hired C&J Lawn & Home LLC to do a roof rip and replace on ** ***** ** Hollis NH 03049 They started on sept 25, 2021. I also had C&J lawn and home to put down Lifeproof flooring that I purchased at Home Depot, I gave him a deposit of 4250.00 then on September 27, 2021i paid him the balance of what I owed him for the project 4050.00 by check and 200.00 in materials he needed to complete the job ice shield and tar paper. On September 27.2021 I gave c&j lawn & home a check for 11.750.00 for a future project on 33 Norton St Nashua NH about a week later the roof started to leaking around the vent pipe. I called him about the problem and he sent out one of his workers to repair the problem and he went up on the roof and put black tar around the vent pipe on a brand new roof. He stated the other worker did not put ice shield around the pipe because he was rushing to get the job done. Then I noticed the flooring I had purchased for to install had huge gaps between the floor and the walls. I contacted C&J lawn & Home and he replied to me I would like to know what you are smoking because my work is professional and I have never had any complaints. If you look on Facebook under C&J Lawn &home you will see complaints about his work and he blocks people such as me from complaining and I am sure that there are many others, he is also rude and very unprofessional.

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/03/02) */ We did complete work for Geraldine B***** and received payment for completed work. The final amount of $11,750 she states was given to us for a future job: only $5000 of that was for the future job(that she decided to cancel at the last minute),the remainder was her balance owed on work completed, contract cancellation fee and restocking fee on materials that were already purchased. We agreed to send her the $5000 deposit back, but she argued and wanted money back for completed work. We could not come to an amicable resolution so we ended it with if she felt she was owed more than the courts would have to decide that. It is currently filed with the small claims court and we are awaiting a date to resolve this matter. She did call us( was very rude and with a nasty attitude)about a roof leak and we did without hesitation send someone out. We found that there was no leak it was water damage on ceiling tiles from previous roof leak(before the replacement). We explained to her again as we did when there to do the work that those should be replaced, but we were not hired to repair/ replace drop ceiling we were hired to do the roof. We never stated anything about anyone rushing or about any problem with the new roof. No mention of flooring issues ever, and we have photos of all work in progress and upon completion. She has since been calling incessantly from multiple phone numbers, sending rude text messages constantly, has had friends and family write fake reviews on our business page and harass us there, sent complaints to any place you can imagine, all instead of letting the court handle it as they are there to do in these situations where there is a case which is already pending. Consumer Response /* (3000, 16, 2022/03/07) */ The initial Job at ***** ** in Hollis Nh 03049 was completed and paid in full at a total of $8300.00 . And additional check for $11.750.00 was issued as a payment for future work at Norton st Nashua Nh . Before any materials or final scope was discussed, The decision was made not to move forward due to unforeseen circumstances. There can be No Restock Fee as previous mentioned(No materials or scope of work were confirmed). Therefore, I should be eligible for a Full Refund totally $11,750.00

We Hired this company C&AJ lawn and home LLC. They came in they looked around they gave us a quote for the work we wanted done. We paid A deposit. They begin work here on Wednesday the 19th of January. Within three days they installed the floor took down a half wall put tile on the bathroom floor installed a toilet and vanity & 3 new doors and then on saturday the 22nd. They said that they would not be returning for a few days. We paid them another quarter of the money. To total 8,247.50. Then on the days that they did not return we looked at their work and we noticed that a lot of the work was done poorly. The floor that they put into the kitchen and living room has large gaps on the sides where you can see the old floor they put a quarter round at the bottom in front of the trim sticking out and overlapping the door frames that we definitely did not OK they used ugly metal threshold instead of ones that match the floor. The bathroom tile floor has holes in the grout they didn't set the grout as long as they were supposed to So the white from underneath the tile shows through and the grout needed to have another coat the tiles are not cut right in certain places there are holes in the grout in certain places. They told us that they were going to replace a heater in the main living room kitchen area and they did not do that they covered the heater. The basement door that they installed wasn't stalled not correctly the other doors that they installed Have random cut chips out of the wood they're installed messy there a holes in the wood on the brand new doors.

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/03/02) */ We were not finished the job. When issues were brought to our attention we acknowledged them and explained what the resolutions would be/ the fix, however all issues were only issues at the time....when job would have been completed all those loose ends would have been tied up. All concerns they had were finish work, that they did not all us the opportunity to complete. We made several attempts to go back and finish and they kept cancelling, before telling us that they did not want us to finish the job. We have pictures of all the work before, during and after, as well as screen shots of all conversations showing our attempts to resolve any issues, finish the work, and satisfy the customers concerns. They broke the contract we had entered into. We are still owed money for this job and we have filed a small claims case against them. Consumer Response /* (3000, 16, 2022/03/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Once the business was notified of our dissatisfaction with the work, they became angry and said they would 'fix' the mistakes but WOULD NOT continue with the signed contract work, which was told to us once. They then blocked all communication. They told us they would fix the quarter round by ripping it up leaving a large gap between the floor and base board. The baseboards should have been taken out prior to the floor being placed down and then put back so there wouldn't have been a gap. Their response was unacceptable. They blocked all communication with us. When the floor was ripped up from the new company, we found cardboard from the plank floor nailed in the subfloor rather than real wood where the half wall was removed and they left the heater opened under the plank floor which would have ruined the floor we paid for in time. We were initially told they were going to move them to the wall, not cover them. One if the new doors is hung with cardboard (no mention of them fixing it), they put holes in the new closet door (no mention of replacing it), they built a door frame on top of the frame for the basement door(no mention of fixing), and they didn't let the mortar set in the bathroom prior to grouting therefore the mortar was coming through (no mention of fixing). Their work was unacceptable and when told these things, they refused to continue with the contract and only mentioned ripping up the quarter inch going up the hallway.
