I have used The Gutter Guy in the passed and was satisfied with cleaning services. Hired him again on another home and while he was there I inquired about adding leaf filter to the current gutters. ***** stated the gutters would not accept his leaf filter due to age and all the gutters needed to be replaced and at that time he would add the leaf filter. I obtained a written quote from him on his business card for new gutters and new leaf filters. I authorized the work to remove the current gutters and install new gutters with leaf filter protection. He stated he would send me a written quote and I stated he did that when he was cleaning the gutters and provided the price on the back of his business card. He sounded confused. 4 weeks later he called ahead of time and showed up as plan 2 days later. Approximately 45 minutes into his arrival I went outside to great him and he stated he had 2 issues, (i)he cant install the leaf filter due to the pitch on the roof - the roof overhangs the gutter and adding the leaf filter will prevent the water to run into the gutter - the excess water will run over the gutter and (ii) when they were cleaning the gutters they did not measure the gutters correctly. So, with half the gutters torn off the house we discussed a later conversion is best between both parties. So, upon completion he raised his price by $600, without leaf filter protection and I counter offered and expressed my end and stated I would pay an additional $400 for his efforts. He agreed and when I told him I would write the check he got extremely upset. At the end of the end of the day ***** did not abide by his quote and tried to take advantage of a 90 year old!!! I would not recommend anyone use The Gutter Guy, **************************************. If you do, hopefully you will have better luck than me!
