I had recently requested a policy change on my auto insurance policy. That request was to remove drivers that DO not and are unable to drive...my elderly parents ..father is 87 with brain injury and my mother 84 who can't walk . both are completely disabled. After I requested them to be removed from policy I received a call from Markham Group Deanna M stating that I could NOT remove them from my policy without them turning in their licenses to the *** and would have to continue to pay for them as drivers. After looking in to this matter I found that I do NOT AND AM NOT REQUIRED PER Deanna M and Markham Group to keep them as drivers. They can be excluded. It is clear to me that not only has Markham Group been dishonest but are seeking extra funds to be paid by me for drivers that DO not and have never driven my car. Again both are disabled and have been. I should have been told that by law I am NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE THEM ON MY AUTO POLICY IF THEY DON'T EVEN DRIVE AND HAVEN'T FOR YEARS. I'm being lied to and scammed out of money which is auto withdrawn thru my bank. THEY REFUSE TO REMOVE THEM OFF MY POLICY PER PHONE CALL I RECEIVED TODAY 3/19/24 FROM DEANNA M AT MARKHAM GROUP. I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SERVICE AKA COVERAGE FOR SOMETHING I DON'T USE OR GET. They also had my niece on my policy to whom lives out of state. So I've been paying for that driver as well. This is wrong and theft. THANK YOU BBB FOR YOUR TIME IN THIS MATTER.Business response

This complaint should have been directed to the insurance company - ***********************. We are only working with their rules of licensed drivers in the household. We are currently working with *********************** on a solution. As of now, we have removed the parents as possible drivers to make sure ************************* is not overpaying for the auto insurance. When we get an answer from *********************** on solving this problem, we will contact *************************.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. With the understanding that I can reopen the complaint if the matter fails to be permanently resolved.
