  This company was contacted on or about March 2, 2023 via email to a ***********************. I had told her that I went with Allstate ...gave her the date March 10, 2023 that the insurance would be taken over by them ...and asked for any credits owed because I paid in advance.Let me be clear ...I can't tell Allstate to contact this agency ...what I can do is do my part only and let them know myself even if they can't take my word ONLY.My husband got in touch with a **** Ostrander from there ...conveyed to him that I'm being charged for insurance that I canceled...I'm assuming he checked with the *** and saw allstate was the insurance company that I had now and retroactively backdated the time I canceled ...Yesterday I get an email after going back and forth with ************* all week that I have a bill due for over 300 due July 10. ************* has again said that this insurance company has not canceled my insurance and that's their job they tell me yet again ...I would like for them to cancel once and for all...as they will be getting a call from an attorney as ************* already did.Not sure what games ***** and **** are playing ....or if they just don't know how to actually do their jobs.

  Just to give you a little background, we are independent insurance agency that represents several insurance companies.  One of those companies is *************.  ******** Rock does their own marketing to entice online shoppers to buy an auto insurance policy from them.  That is what ****** *********************** did in December of 2021.  ************* then assigned her policy to ********** for servicing purposes even tough we never spoke or met ************* 
  
   
  
  In March of 2023, ****** chose to move her auto insurance policy from ************* to Allstate.  The painful process that followed, which is the basis of this complaint, all could have been averted had Allstate  done what they were supposed to do by ***************************** Division of Insurance rules and regulations:  send out a 2A or similar notice to ************* **** *** and/or Ostrander Insurance Agency.  Allstate never did so and it led to this protracted, messy situation. 
  
   
  
  Attached are activities gathered from ********** management system and bulletins from the *********** Division of Insurance.  **** Ostrander and *********************** work in ********** here at Ostrander Insurance Agency.  Virtually all of the attachments relate to emails and internal messages saved by **** and ***** at their work stations while trying to get ************* **** *** to cancel ************************************ auto policy.  Ostrander Insurance Agency does not have the ability to cancel the policy.  Only ************* can issue the policy and only ************* can cancel the policy. 
  
   
  
  We feel that we did the best we could to communicate to ****** and her husband, *****, what was going on throughout the process.  Had a 2A or similar notice been provided in a timely manner by Allstate, which was their legal obligation, this unfortunate matter could have been averted.
