      On 12/29/23, I paid a deposit of $382 to HomeWiz towards the installation of an outlet for an EV car charger after being given an estimate of $800-1200. The HomeWiz electrician came to my home on 1/9/24 to do the job and told me that the installation would cost $6,590. I gave him my credit card but almost immediately began to regret this and told him that I did not want to proceed with the job because the pricing seemed so out of line. I told him that I would pay him for his time which was less than an hour. He told me the charge would be $******. I assumed that the deposit would be deducted and that I would pay him $331.22 (****** minus the initial deposit of $382). I was never given a receipt that detailed what the $****** entailed. I was not given a credit card receipt either. I later discovered that the deposit had not been deducted so that I have paid a total of ******** for nothing.On 1/16/24, I contacted HomeWiz by phone to discuss this. I was told that they do not itemize their services so that information on the $****** charge would not be forthcoming. I was also told that part of the charge would have to do with having already ordered equipment for the job that could not be cancelled. It is hard for me to believe that within the brief period of time that HomeWiz was on the premises, equipment was ordered and could not be cancelled. The person I spoke with today informed me that he would have no further discussion with **** am seeking an itemized explanation of the amount of money paid and a billing adjustment.

      I called 6 ****************** were the only one to call back. You required payment up front. Your statement was, we are committing to sending 3 people out so we want a commitment from you. If I had another choice I would have never hired you. I was only here for two weeks and had many contractors scheduled to do work & wanted the electrical systems checked. *** was condescending on the phone, telling me Im putting the icing on the cake first because the painters were already scheduled, that the electrical should come first because you may need to tear out drywall & then I would need to have that repaired, totally out of the realm I was looking for. You never really bothered to ask what I was doing, or why. Perhaps you should ask more questions before making uninformed statements. 3 of you showed up. I paid $1250 to be sold to, 1 person to do the work & the 2 to sell me electrical services I didnt need. For the cost I would have at least expected a written report w/recommendations. Maybe thats a liability for you to actually document what you did. I was told you would correct anything & do any work that didnt require equipment to be purchased. You told me the person doing my tear out could remove the security system. It did not require any additional purchased components to be removed. ***** did all the work while ************ used rudimentary, emotional scare tactics to convince me I needed things that were not necessary. I recognized every one of your sales pitches. ******, no one cares how many degrees you have, all we wanted was an honest electrician, not a plumber or a heat pump installer which we had already hired. Telling me I needed 6 -7 wired smoke/carbon detectors to bring the house up to code is incorrect. The house is at code for the time it was built. And $6000--$7000 for a new electric panel is insane. I am still waiting for the quote ***. By the way, my heat pumps are installed, running beautifully & I didnt even need a sub-panel.
