On Thursday, April 29, 2021, I went to Forest Hills Auto Service, in Jamaica Plain to pick up my car which was brought in for repair of an AC compressor and shocks. On Wednesday, April 28, and at the request of the owner, I gave a $1000 cash deposit for the repair work on the AC Compressor. When I was told how much it was going to cost to do my AC compressor, I changed my mind about doing the work and told the Sales Manager/owner, (Ahmad K. ?) that I no longer wanted to do the AC compressor and to just do the shocks on my 2009 Acura MDX. I went to the Acura dealer first thing Thursday morning (4/29) and purchased the parts/shocks and brought it directly over to Forest Hills Auto Service and also gave him an additional $1235 in cash. I didn’t realize that I had overpaid him. I only had my shocks put in, which I bought myself from the dealer, so the total cost should have been $235. I gave him an extra $2000 and only got back $1000 and he pocketed the other $1000. Receipt# 34004

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

Hello I, ***********************, has received the response from Forest Hills Auto Service and do not agree with it. I did receive a check for $1,000 dollars from them however that's not the money I'm complaining about. On the morning of  April 29th  Salomon bought over the shocks he had purchased from the Acura dealership
Salomon gave the owner the shocks and an additional $1,235. There is no receipt for that additional $1,000. That was a huge mistake on our part. In total the shop recieved $2,235 dollars. Also there was no threats made on our part. Salomon called his brother, to inform him of what's going on, and his brother told us to call the police which i did. I called the police on April 29th at 4:36 pm, 4:41 pm, and 4:42 pm. Later that evening I called the non-emergency line about me coming to pick up the police report and was told there was no report made.

      Thanks,
      --****** Booth
