I've been using Simply Business for about a year now for general liability insurance. The one big issue I raised with them after the very first month is that they provide NO RECEIPT and NO NOTIFICATION for the automatic monthly payment they pull from your card. They are a brokerage agency that doesn't even follow basic transactional tenets, such as providing a receipt for a payment, which is perplexing to me. I compensate for their accounting shortcoming by going into my SimplyBusiness account each month and doing a screen capture of the payments they've taken - a shabby work-around to a major Simply Business system deficiency that would cost almost nothing for them to fix. Perhaps this isn't an issue to them because they don't have a customer perspective or maybe it hasn't been brought up as an audit issue?Review from Shannon K

Awful!!I don't even have a policy but I still get charged monthly. I can't cancel it since I'm in ********** with a 3 hour time difference and work 7 days a week. (I'm a wildland firefighter). I don't even know WHAT to cancel since I don't have a policy.I've sent about **** emails at this point and keep being told I need to call, which is a problem since I'm off long after they're closed.I don't even know why I'm being charged, I checked the site and it said my prior policy from a year ago was closed and I don't have any new ones. Total scam.Use real brokers.Simply Business Response

I have a policy and I required a simply contact information update since I had switched mailbox locations. I contacted SimplyBusiness to do the update and their perplexing suggestion was that I had to cancel my policy and create a new one with the new address. I worked around them and contacted the insurer directly and made the update in minutes. Apparently, at least one agent in SimplyBusiness lacks any level of ethics.Simply Business Response

Certain number of our carriers have policy change restrictions which can include the requirement to cancel/re-write an insurance policy if there is a change in business address. This is not a decision made by Simply Business, but rather a requirement of certain of our carriers.
