We contracted with N Miller Masonry and Construction for work on our property in the spring of 2022. This involved considerable landscaping work to prevent leakage of water into our basement and also installation of pavers on our driveway, walkways around our house and also pool area in the back of our house. The removal of a tree in the front of our house was also included. In the contract that we signed. Contrary to our expectations no permits were obtained for this work and also removal of the tree caused damage to lines going into our house and N Miller unavailable to the utilities to arrange for compensation. We were told falsely that insurance was available to cover this damage. Subsequently the website for N Miller Masonry and Construction was taken down and no telephone numbers or addresses for this business was available other than **************************************************************** which appears to be a private address for **************************** **************************** who apparently runs the company and his associate *************************** made numerous verbal allegations about polluted land for which they provided no documentation as a justification for doing more work and charging more money. After the paving was completed they became unavailable for any of the cleanup work and misc work such as damage to the pool fence. When we wanted an accounting of their expenses and threatened legal action their website was taken down and they became unreachable and we had to complete multiple cleanup and repair projects on our own. Water continued to leak into our basement in spite of assurances that this problem was mitigated and we had to go to considerable expense to solve this problem.We have employed multiple contractors over the years but this is the worst experience that we have had. We feel that the company has been very devious and unethical in their dealings with us. This is the worst experience that we have ever had with contractors. We were grossly overcharged for their work.Customer response

After spending $70,000, we were left with a mess. Not only is the work in an unfinished, unacceptable state, but it is unstable and not safe for walking use. All of the pavers on the walkway are loose, one of the steps were not attached resulting in someone falling. None of the retaining walls are properly filled which will result in crumbling (and eventually falling down) when too much water gets in, ice and/or snow. In addition, pictures on their website are not their own and confirmed to have been taken from other businesses. This business is not registered with the department of consumer affairs, even though their website claims they are licensed, bonded and insured. There were no safety precautions taken and did not pull a permit. Videos of everything have been sent to the business with no response. This business promised to take all rubble, debris, and leave the property tidy. We were left with ***** contractor bags filled with debris that we had to pay for to remove. We were also promised that our driveway would be power washed and was not, and decided to use our hose to clean off their own trucks and equipment instead. This business needs to be held accountable for their actions and we are seeking reimbursement so that we can hire a reputable, insured ***** to perform legal work to correct the mess this business has made. We refuse to allow N Miller Masonry and Construction back on our property or to perform any additional work.Customer response

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. The business has no physical address, have failed to take responsibility of their actions and are clearly on the run.
