It was late at night and I was trying to find a pet friendly hotel for my husband and I to sleep a few hours before heading back to *******. We pulled into Quality Inn ********** ** where I was checking on pet friendly hotels. On the website I used , it said the hotel was pet friendly and even had a review about a guest staying with his dog. I rented the room through SmarterTravel and my husband was told upon entering the lobby we are not pet friendly , we cannot accept your reservation. We could have stayed in the room and dogs in the car for the short time we were going to be there but we didnt even a chance to suggest this. So I contacted SmarterTravel and informed them of the situation and the man on the phone refused to talk about a refund and said I needed to file a complaint via their website, which I did. They said I should be contacted no later than 5 business days. I received another email stating the same thing but was not contacted by the company until I wrote a negative review on their website. Then they still refused to refund our money saying it was up to the hotel. When I contacted the hotel , I was hung up on and told I needed to deal with SmarterTravel. Sounds to me they are passing the buck just to avoid giving our ***** back. These are large corporations and seems really silly for me to have to going through the better business to have to get a refund. I read a review on their site praising them for working with them to get a refund even though it was past the time for them to get a refund. I have pictures from the websites saying hotel was pet friendly and the review if anyone would care to take a look.
