Nexamp Response
06/10/2024
Hello *******,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We're here to help clarify how Nexamp's billing and credits work. We understand that you have been actively communicating with our team, and we appreciate your patience as we address your concerns.
Nexamp credits are applied directly to your NYSEG bill based on the solar energy your share of the farm produces each month. These credits reduce the total amount you owe, and you receive a 10% discount on all the credits applied, ensuring you save on your electricity costs.
Please note that while we try to offset as much of your electricity costs as possible throughout the year, if the credits do not cover the full amount of your utility bill, you are responsible for paying the remaining balance directly to your utility company. Additionally, Nexamp bills you in arrears, meaning you are billed for the credits you have already received and used on your utility bill. This ensures you only pay for the credits that were applied.
As for our cancelation policy, we ask for up to 90 days' notice to cancel your participation in our program because we need to notify your utility to remove Nexamp and stop applying credits. This process is outlined in the agreement you signed when you joined our program and allows for any final credits to be appropriately processed. We hope this explanation helps clarify your questions and we will continue to follow up to make sure your needs are met.
