I filled out and submitted a form online on August 27th for a parking permit. I thought I was pulling it through the city but the information on the screen said Parking Permit. A message popped on the screen saying someone would be in touch with me. On Sunday, 9/8/24 I was getting nervous because I hadn't heard from anyone and I went and pulled my own permit. On Monday, 9/9 I was contacted by a **** **** saying that the location I requested the permit from was not a valid location. I did not realize that this person was not from the city of ****** but from Permit Puller. So we exchanged a few emails where I was explaining that the location is valid. **** said that I was good to go and then I was charged $41 for a permit and then $222 from a company named Porch at the top. I didn't see this until I got home and then I immediately contacted them and said sorry for the confusion because I hadn't heard from them I had already purchased my own permit and I didn't require their service and I was told by them that it was too late because the city of OR doesn't issue refunds. I responded and said I was fine to pay the $41 but i'm not paying $222 I was never advised of these fees or informed that that the fee was this high. It literally takes 10 minutes to pull this permit and they refused to give me my money back. I did all of the work myself and there was not any transparency in this process. When **** reached out she should have introduced who she was and what she was contacting me about and confirmed the charges and the service. I feel this companies business practices are suspect because I don't know anyone that would willingly pay $222 for this service. It is not warranted.

I understand the frustration when the local government fails to provide enforcement.  *********** we offer is to obtain parking permits from the local government for the requested address and date and to arrange for the posting of temporary signs in accordance with the city rules and regulations designed to prevent vehicles from parking.  When the posting is completed and verified for accuracy with the local government, which this job was, the municipality typically can provide enforcement (towing) should the signs be ignored.  As mentioned, we cannot police the signs nor are we involved in requesting enforcement from the local government however we do provide the phone number and suggest that the call is made as soon as one notices their permit in violation.  Response time and reliability does vary between municipalities but unfortunately this is out of our control.  We can only provide our service to make sure the permit and signs are posted in time and in accordance with the local government rules and regulations.  We cannot guarantee the public will honor the posted signs nor will the city provide enforcement.  This is stated in the terms of service and we make no promises to contradict this elsewhere.

      1. I gave my $204 to you. You have a partner with a government entity. You concealed that you work with an untrustworthy partner. That is why I have reported you to the MA Attorney General.  I sent exhibits where you sell under the FALSE PRETENSE that you take care of everything. SEE ALL EXHIBITS!

      2. In terms it states you can give refunds.  You give the refund, deal with your untrustworthy partner that you have a contract later.

      3. You are operating under a business license and corporation insurance, I will be seeking help from the Attorney General with this.

      4. You falsely advertised, the case was substantiated in your own advertisements.

I was told by the city of **** that as a resident, I cant get a permit for the moving POD that had to go on the street in front of my house. The **** agent I talked with on the phone said the driver would have the permit with him, so I thought I was good to go. However upon delivery of the **** the driver asked for my permit. Ugh. Then he said iI needed to go to movingpermits.com to get my permit. The site disclosed the additional fee of $30 for a same day permit, however it did not disclose their fee. But I was in a bind so I paid for it. I was pretty shocked to discover later that the permit was $85, the same day fee was $30 and their fee was $90. Then I found out that the **** location WAS supposed to pull and pay for the permit after all (after calling the city of **** again). I feel like this is a scam? Perhaps an arrangement between their companies? Anyway, its ridiculous they can charge a fee without disclosing it. Additionally, permits cant be pulled by residents, which (per the city) means its not valid.and I disclosed that I was a resident and not a business. So my complaint is not disclosing their ridiculous fee and pulling a permit that shouldnt have been allowed in the first place. And now I am left to try and sort it all out & avoid getting ticketed by the city.

We do provide pricing for the permit on our pricing page and the application page.  Please see ************************************************; This discloses that the way the pricing works is that the total will be a service plus a city fee and then any other additional fees such as a $30 rush fee for orders submitted in a short proximity to the start date.  For container permits in *********** we disclose that the city charges $85 for the permit and that our service fee to obtain the permit is $90. On our application form there is a link to pricing and details after one selects the city.  If one selects a start date that is close the application date (range varies from city to city) there will be a pop up that reads "Yikes, well need to move quick! Minneapolis prefers a lead time of 5 calendar days. If the city approves a permit for your request, an expedite fee of $30 will be added to your invoice."

In ***********, it is usually the container providers responsibility for obtaining the permit, however, we are the authorized agents to obtain permits on behalf of PODS.

I do not agree that the fee schedule is obvious. I believe that it's deliberate difficult to find because your fees are excessive. However, if you are authorized to act on behalf of ****, why wasn't the **** information put on the permit (or yours)? The city made it clear to me that a resident is not allowed to pull a permit. Clearly you are also aware of this. Then why is my name and address on the permit, when it should be **** or yours? And if **** is responsible for obtaining the permit, why are they having me pay for it? In your response, it is quite clear that this is the standard process and agreement between your two organizations. I will of course follow up with **** as well to try and get to the bottom of this situation. I believe this is a deliberate attempt to send your company business and allow **** to save money by charging a customer for something that is their responsibility.  And I was put in a situation where I had no choice but to use your website or not receive my POD. That is simply not acceptable.

On June 12, 2022, I created an account with Permit Pullers, *** on their website, MovingPermits.com and applied for their services on that same date. They advertise that they work with city parking agencies around the USA to reserve street parking for moving vans and moving pods, by obtaining permits and tow-away signs.I ended up paying $249 for their service, including the parking permit and signage fees charged by the city where I requested the service. I received confirmation via email on June 30 (while I was en route to the destination from a very long distance away), along with permit documents, that they had reserved a spot. However, very little was detailed in the documentation. The document listed the address I had indicated but also included the phrase that they would "advise the most convenient, suitable, and legal area." No other evidence was given, nor was there any explanation of actions of recourse in the event that something goes wrong (sign removal, parking violation, etc.).When I arrived on July 1 very late at night (due to extenuating circumstances), not only could I not find any signs posted that seemed to reserve a sign, but there were actually signs posted all in front of the address warning not to park due to the upcoming July 4 parade (address was on parade route). No where in the immediate area, where it would have been "convenient, suitable [or] legal" was there any other signage. Moreover, parking on the street in that city is free, requiring no permit from the city. When I reached out to the company, they sent a photo of the sign (which they didn't send in the initial confirmation email) and stated that they had done their service and were not responsible for the sign being taken down (by the city or otherwise). In summary, I didn't get the benefit of what I paid for, and they wouldn't even issue a partial refund. They have been argumentative with me from the moment I tried to engage with them about it.

Our service is to obtain parking permits and to arrange for the posting of the No Parking signs at a requested location.  We also look into each location and determine if a permit is needed.  On this specific job, we determined that a permit was needed as the *************** requires a ROW to reserve parking for a moving vehicle in a public parking lane regardless if it is a metered location or free parking.  After making this determination, we proceeded with paying for and obtaining the permit and posting the signs as instructed.  Once we put up signs, we cannot police them and do not offer a refund if they are removed or tampered with.  This is a rarity but unfortunately it does happen from time to time and can be frustrating for everyone involved.  We still have to charge for what we paid the city and our service fee as we have to pay our crew to visit the location and post.

it happens from time to time and its frustrating for everyone involved, but one party still profits while the other ****** money over nothing. I assume this business turns a profit from its services. All businesses take a hot from time to time when conditions prevent them from profiting. All Im asking is for the business to meet me halfway, to show some good faith that they care about my satisfaction and future business. Theres no reason they should profit from a service that gained their customer nothing. They need to refund me a reasonable amount of money to satisfy me in this case.
