Since moving into this apartment complex I have encountered several issues. The leasing office has given me a lot of push back about performing repairs anytime they have been required. There is an online service to submit maintenance request and I often have to submit multiple submissions, call the office, or go to the office in person in order for anything to be done. In July it will be 1 year since moving and there has been non-stop repairs. First, my dishwasher was not working and it took 4 visits from maintenance before they accepted that it was indeed broken and needed to be replaced. I also had issues with my faucets not delivering sufficient output and those needed to be replaced as well. My balcony also has concrete falling from the overhead and the paint in the bathtub has been peeling off since move-in day. I have been asking about the bathtub for some time, but because of all the other issues I have been trying to get those resolved first. Now the paint peeling has gotten worse and is in immediate need for repair. I am currently in graduate school in an accelerated program and live alone, so I do not have time to call the office multiple times or submit requests for these repairs. Recently when I had time I submitted another request for the bathroom and they said it needed to be resurfaced and I would have to be displaced from my unit for 4 days for the repair. They offered no accommodations or compensation for this especially when they scheduled the repair at an inconvenient time while school is still in session for me and I need a place to sleep so I can go to campus. The reason for this repair is not of my doing so I do not feel I should have to pay to be displaced while this repair takes place. Despite this inconvenience in my school schedule I made arrangements to be out of my apartment during the dates they gave, and they did not do the repairs. Now they say I have to find another time for them to come when I never canceled this repair date.Customer response

I pay for a carport cover at ***************************, ($100 per month). For the past month, the light above my carport has been out, which defeats the point of it which is safety. Due to my work schedule I leave early and come home late. I also have complained about illegal activity and known, violent criminals being in the building. I have asked for some sort of concession as part of an amenity that I pay for has not been in use, despite me making 3 maintenance requests. They are also paving the parking lot for multiple days at the beginning of the month and I am unable to park in the spot that I pay for during that time. I am so unhappy with the service here. I have given my notice and am moving out at the end of the month.Business response

I, unfortunately, have been forced to write a BBB complaint as so far my attempts to speak with and resolve the issue with on-site property management have been all but ignored. I have contacted the team 10+ times now via phone and email only to receive very little response and now we are being pushed under the rug completely.I have had multiple issues since moving in 2 years ago which have all but been ignored also. It saddens me that I am having to resort to a formal complaint to receive some response and action. We previously had a leak in our bathroom ceiling for over 10 months with little care or attempts to resolve the issue, we were not allowed to use our sinks for 2 weeks on another occasion, and more recently, we have a new upstairs neighbor who has done nothing but strip us of any quiet or enjoyment of our home. I did everything the right way (contacting property management, documenting & asking them to listen to the noise) only to be completely disregarded. I am so upset.Business response

We regret that our customer felt it necessary bring their complaint to BBB. Our staff has been actively interacting with the customer since the date of their complaint regarding the neighbors lack of courtesy. The complaint was addressed with the neighbors and the proper violation notices served. As we are unable to control the behavior of the neighbors and the eviction process is lengthy, we have agreed to allow our customer to transfer to a different apartment or terminate their lease and vacate the property completely.
In regard to the other noted items. The reported leaks were at the onset of COVID and for the safety of our residents and staff, only emergency maintenance in the apartments was performed. The customers leaks were fixed immediately and the cosmetic work delayed as non-emergency maintenance. In regard to being without a sink, every apartment on the first through third floor were impacted during the repair of a main water line break, an unfortunate but unforeseen emergency.
We value our customers tenancy and hope they will choose to transfer within the community.Sincerely,
