After having a root canal done, I went to Arch Dental, ******************************************************** for the crown; after running my insurance they told me that my out of pocket expense would be approximately $250. They then set the post and cast the mold for the crown. When I returned for the appointment to have the actual crown placed I was told that my out of pocket cost due was $1,600! Of course I wasn't prepared to pay that amount, when I was quoted $250! I asked for a payment plan and they refused. I never received my crown from them. I have selected another provider for my dental care and I requested, by phone, my X-ray records from Arch Dental and 2 other area providers. I received my X-ray records from the other 2 providers who appropriately verified me by name, address, birthdate, etc. and I received my records by email within minutes of the request at no charge. When I made the same request to Arch Dental the "receptionist" questioned why I wanted my x-ray records. I simply stated because they were my medical records and she shouldn't be asking. I was told, they didn't know who I was. I could be anyone. I was then told I could not get my xrays without me coming in and signing a non disclosure form and then there would be a charge of $25!!! This is outrageous practice, outright extortion. I checked NPI database for ownership records with the intent to contact the owner to complain. I made the call to the owner of record to find that the information was outdated, noting information of the previous owner, who explained she'd sold the business to another practitioner some time ago. Furthermore she was perturbed as to why they were still operating under the name "Arch Dental explaining at the time of sale she sold her business to a provider doing business as "Smilistic Dental".
