I purchased two $30 gift cards from the European Wax Center in Watertown, 12/2020. I was told that the gift cards had no expiration date and can be used at any EWC location. My friends attempted to use the gift cards 7/1/2022 at the Brockton location. The front desk staff stated, they cannot see the gift cards on their end so it cannot be used. Both friends called to notify me of what was said. After, I contacted the Watertown location to find out about the gift cards. The first woman I spoke with said, I would have to speak with the manager, but the manager is out. She stated, the manager will call to talk about what was going on with my gift cards. I left my name and number and waited for her call. Two days passed, the manager never called. I visited the Watertown location in person to see if I can rectify this matter. I spoke to the front desk staff. They called the manager and I spoke with the manager on speaker phone. She told me, the gift cards can be used and when my friends would like to receive service from any wax center, they have to request to pay for their service under my phone number at any EWC location. I called my friends to relay the message. I also told them that I will try to use one of the gift cards myself to make sure it works. Mid-July I scheduled a wax service at the Brockton location, I attempted to use one of the gift cards under my phone number as instructed to me prior. They said, they cannot see any gift card under my name and I have to pay for the service. I called the Watertown location again. Staff said, I can only use the gift cards at the Watertown location. I told her that is not what I was told. She said I would have to speak with the manager again. After I got off the phone with her, I asked the Brockton location if I could only use the gift cards at the location it was purchased. They stated, no, You can purchase and use it at any location.
