Signed a contract for proposed work with this company on 11/18/22. They immediately cashed my check at PLS check cashers in Boston and I knew I was in trouble. Many calls and texts later they finally showed up to "work", three men in dress clothes made some noise with tools in my basement the said they had to leave to get more tools. They never returned that day, left my home open, never told me they wouldn't be back. The next day they came with laborers they grabbed at *********** I know this because the "hired" men told me this. They dug trenches, broke parts of my foundation and for some unknown reason cut a part of the floor out. a couple hours later the guys I hired showed up, again well dressed( I say this because I don't believe they ever do work or even own tools, the men working said all the tools were theirs). They walked around and said they couldn't do the proposed work and things were worse then they thought. I asked for my money back and they laughed in my face, saying we don't refund deposits once work has started. I said you're telling me you can't do the work and all you've done is make a mess! They agreed to repoint my basement for the money paid which I was OK with. The next day the guys from ********** began the work on the basement walls only to be pulled from the job by the hired guys at 1pm. They insulted the workers, said they should have finished and told them they were done. I was never able to get any more work out of them. I filed a police report with ***************** who told me this is a well known scam and its huge!

I live in ***************, **. In October 2022 I hired the company to repair steps at a Brighton, ** rental property I own. The principal of the firm gave an estimate to repair the steps. After being hired to repair the steps, he changed tack and tore down the steps without getting my approval. He then provided a quote to rebuild the steps which markedly increased the cost. Eventually, I agreed to have his firm do the rebuild. The principal of the firm stated that the work would be warranted for 20 years. Initially when notified that he had completed the job, I notified him that his firm failed to install the railings. They then installed the railings. I wired the payment for the job based on the photos that were sent only to be told by my tenants that the railings were very wobbly. They sent me videos; hence, the railings seem to have been installed just for the sake of appearances. I contacted the principal of the firm who said he would send his guys to anchor the railings. I then visited the property towards the end of November and noticed that the railings had yet to be anchored. I then contacted the principal of the firm on multiple occasions. He again stated that the railings would be addressed within a week or in a couple of days but the work has yet to be done. I have attached the most recent text exchanges with the principal of the firm in which regarding the railing issue he wrote "The reason why it wasn't done is because I'm extremely busy at this present time of the year." The failure to address an ongoing safety issue suggests that Greater Boston Masonry and Construction values profits over safety. I would like the company to anchor the railings ASAP.

I have heard from the business in response to my complaint since I notified the principal of the company that I filed the complaint.  He said that he would fix the railings on the next day but didn't do so because of rain.  He then said that he would fix the railings on the next day that the weather was good but has yet to fix the railings despite my contacting him on 12/22/22 to inform  that the weather in Boston was good that day.  Nor has he responded to my l2/22/22 asking when the railings will be repaired?
