  I hired ******************************* to install some chain-link & replace a wood fence. I paid $2900 deposit w/$1320 due upon completion. The wood fence was supposed to be exactly the same (same wood, style, *************** as what was there. I was told the job would start on 11/18/22 & finish on 11/19/22. He said 1.5 days. He showed up on the 18th to say he couldn't do it on 18th/19th & would return the 21st. He didn't show up on 21st. Only when I texted him late that day did he tell me he would be coming the next day.The original fence was high-quality Cedar. This fence is not. When I asked him what kind of wood he used he would not tell me. It looks like a really cheap pine w/100s of knots, black mold on it and much of the wood is all gouged up. One of the problems with using cheap wood with hundreds of knots aside from looking horrible is that the knots fall out and some of these are 3 feet long and on the edge of the boards. The spaces between the boards are much bigger than the previous fence. In some cases more than twice the size.This fence is way off the ground. All the fence in my yard is touching the ground to keep animals out and my dog in. Many of the posts are badly split and cracked. This means they will rot and wear out faster and one of the worst is the one the gate is attached to. That post is crooked.All of the previous fence had nicely curved caps that were very uniform. These were very poorly done and one section is flat, but uneven. The cuts on the top of the posts are all uneven.Instead of ending the wood fence at the corner, where it meets some chain-link fence the wooden fence goes past the corner about a foot. Apparently this was easier to do but it is not normal and does not look right at all.The gate spring is on wrong, he chopped up a bunch of bushes even though I asked him not to, there is no hole in the post for the lock latch, etc. I asked him to leave the extra chain-*********** & he did not.Chain link fence should be closer to wood fence.

  I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. I have received a small claims letter. Based on the work that was done, there is no way they will prevail, but it will be a waste of my time.
