Advanced Water Quality Systems, Inc. Response

A little history:
We installed a water softener and a Revere Osmosis system for the S*******'s on 4/29/10. We recommended a lower cost system than what they had us install. They wanted the bigger, more expensive unit even though their water issues didn't require it. ********** town water is fairly mundane compared to much of the well water we see.
Typically, customers pay us in full on the day we install. The S*******'s wanted to have a payment plan. I was a relatively new owner of the business back then and wanted to be accommodating so we worked out a 48 month payment plan which included free service labor with an interest rate of 18%. They agreed to the terms and signed off. After about 2 years, they wanted out of the payment plan saying we were robbing them blind. I didn't want to finance them in the first place but they agreed to it! Paul's calculations for a payoff were not even close to ours.
One of their first complaints in the review was our failure to service the 'system' when it was 'completely down'. The reverse osmosis system that was installed is designed to stop delivering water when the filters are expended. This prevents folks from drinking untreated water - an important consideration when treating certain special problems such as arsenic. These filters typically stop after a year to a year and a half. Sure enough, the system was completely down because the filters just needed changing. Yes, this was explained when sold and when installed. Did he call us to say there was no water coming out - NO.
Next, we sell at outrageous prices. Very early after install, they asked us to provide our prices for a variety of consumable products -filters, salt, etc. Prices for materials that they would never need and they weren't part of the equipment they had. Not only did they not challenge any prices but they wanted us to deliver them salt - one time 10 bags - and filters. Of course we mark up such supplies and we told them they could buy salt much cheaper at **** ***** or *****. (He actually ended up working at ***** for a short time!)
Accused of taking unauthorized pictures of his home! OMG. We take pictures of all the installations we do so that when a customer calls, we can often handle the call over the phone because we can look at the location of shut off valves, etc. No one, other than Paul S*******, has ever questioned us when we've taken picture of the system we just installed. No one - and we have over 4000 installations in central MA and northern CT.
There is truth that, at the '19 Worcester Home Show, where we have exhibited for 25 years, Paul S******* did approach me at our booth. And, yes, there were potential customers there at the booth, So, as I always am, I was cordial to Paul when it was suggested that we resume servicing him. I told him I would get back to him. So you know, I was never remorseful or regretted how we had treated the S*******'s as he purports. Far from it. The whole staff was glad to not be working with the S*******'s any longer. When I did get back to him a few weeks later, I told him we were still not interested in providing service. He was livid!
Now understand, back in mid '13 when we finally agreed to a very reduced payoff amount on his payment plan and agreed to not have him pay for outstanding consumable supplies from '11 and '12, we also informed him that there was another water treatment dealer in MA who carried the same products as we installed in his house. This other dealer, ******* ***** ** *******, is known to be much higher on their equipment costs and service rates than we are. I'm wondering if perhaps the S*******'s tried ******* ***** and were not happy as many, many of their customers aren't. We get lots of calls from ******* customers asking us to service.
If you want to compare track records, look up ******* *****'s BBB history and compare it to ours.
What's also interesting to me is that Paul S******* has never called Kinetico, the manufacturer of all the equipment we installed. Often we get a call from Kinetcio regards a ****** ***** problem that they want us to resolve.
