This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I've been working with this company now for 4 years and now I've been getting my wages garnished due to Newport Legal work not doing what they are supposed to do. I have called numerous times and no one will call me back(lawyer) and when I talk to customer service they do not help they state I need to speak to my lawyer and of course she wont return my calls. I advise to stay away from this company. They are horrible.

Completely inept. I have asked on at least 3 different occasions over a stretch of 4 months to push through the final settlement payment so that I can be done with this program. The funds are sitting there ready to be used to fulfill this settlement, and yet nothing is being done about it. When you attempt to call them with questions, you sit on hold for 3 hours before talking to someone, and then your matter is still not resolved. Avoid these guys like the plague if you're looking for a debt settlement solution.

Complete scam!!! They keep your money and do not pay off your debt! A class action lawsuit needs to be filed against them!!!

They seemed to start out ok and they settled 2 out of 4 debts for us. The third one we settled through court with minimal help from Newport. Now we have one left, however they want us to resign a contract changing their fee structure. Our original debt amount for the 4 was around $20000, we have now paid for settlements and fees around $18500. They are going to end up costing us more money than we owed at the start. I'm trying to contact them to end the contract, receive our balance of funds, and try to settle the final debt ourselves, but have called multiple times, waiting on hold over an hour each time with no response. Looks like we made another bad decision with this company.

I enrolled in Newport Legal 3 years ago to get my debt paid off. Each month I paid on time. Each month they would send me emails asking for more to pay off my debt faster. Back in September 2023 I called Newport Legal and I requested a pay off figure, which I paid that day. I was told my creditors would be paid off in 30 days. At the beginning of Dec 2023 I received a billing statement. I sent Newport Legal an email questioning the status because I was under the assumption I had paid off my creditors. From that email I sent them, they went ahead and cancelled my account, notified my creditors and sent me the monies I paid them for the pay off figure back. I have tried desperately to get this situation fixed and my account reactivated so my creditors can be paid off. Newport Legal says it is their fault for cancelling my account, but yet it is now April 2024 and still nothing has happened to fix their mistake. They keep telling me it is in their lawyers hands on whether they will reactivate my account or not and that they will contact me when a decision has been made or not. I am sick over this. I signed the contract that was notarized upon entering this program 3 years ago. I have held up my end of the deal. Newport Legal cancelled my account without my consent. I have made numerous calls to Newport Legal, been on hold for up to 8 hours some days to get a hold of someone. I am told the same thing over and over, that they are working on it, but that it might not be fixed, even though it is their fault this happened. Since Newport Legal cancelled my account, contacted my 3 creditors that would have been paid off in September 2023, when I called for the pay off figure. It has been nothing but a nightmare trying to get Newport Legal to fix the mistake that they had done. I am sick over this, lost sleep, and all I want is for Newport Legal to fix their mistake, contact my creditors apologizing to them and get my creditors paid off. Zero stars.

I pay high fees for attorney services and after 2 weeks, still no attorney so will have to go to court on my own. What a rip off!

When does it end?? Like so many others, if I could rate them at zero stars I would. The fees are exorbitant, I don't believe that they did much negotiation with my creditors and feel I would have been better of contacting them myself to arrange a payment schedule with less damage done to my credit. They gave me their estimated settlement amount and based my monthly payment on that which all sounded great, except there was a serious deficiency in my account balance vs. what they 'negotiated' so what should have been 24 months of payments has now been extended 11 more. Don't ever expect to get a response via the website. You have to call and just wait it out to talk to someone who is generally less than helpful. My advice is to contact your creditors yourself and let them know you cannot pay, have them stop adding late fees, and work out a payment plan with them directly. You'll be better off financially and so will your credit score.

I've been paying Newport $585 a month for two years to help settle some personal debts. For the first two years over half of my payments have gone to fees as spelled out in my contract. Now that all the up front fees have been collected and most of my monthly payment gets applied to my debts they no longer answer the phone or respond to emails. I believe it is possible I have been scammed out of over $11,000 in the fees they have charged me.

This company is a scam. They take your money and dont work at pursuing settlements as promised. They were suppose to contact all my creditors and make arrangements for settlements. This only happened for a couple and they have since been sued by 2 and now have garnishments on record. When I sent over the court summons the attorney assigned did nothing I could t do myself. If I had the money to pay myself why would I have hired this legal company. This has been a rip off and whenever I contact them I get a runaround. I think they should not be in business because their sole purpose is to hijack you with fees and charges before any money goes toward your debt and in the meantime the creditors come after you.

scam artist ****** very unprofessional. this company over charged us around $7000. They made it sound good but never informed us that we will eventually have to pay the full amount our selves once is was federal tax time . i keep trying to talk to a supervisor but never get a call back. i aint no educated person so i dont know what to do or who to contact about this company ripping me off and now they sold my account to their sister company which is another scam Versara lending group. *** been waiting for a supervisor from them to talk to now for about 2 months.
