On 7/27/23 I had my oil boiler cleaned as part of the annual cleaning covered under a maintenance contract. I suspected that the cleaning wasn't done as it should be as several things were done differently than they normally are. This included the technician closing himself in the boiler room. On this date, when the technician left, he made no comment on the condition of my boiler, offered no insight to visible signs of wear and left very few notes on his cleaning card. On 8/12 we came home from a week long vacation and discovered that the water feed pipe to the boiler had let go and water was pouring into our finished basement for at least 2 days. We called the company to have them fix the pipe. The technician who came to make the fix, happened to be the same one who did the cleaning, fixed the pipe and when I asked if it was all set he told me :" Yes, everything is fine." I asked him if it was even turned on, as we had shut of the switch, which he didn't even notice. He flipped the switch on and said "you are all set." I later tested the heat and realized the boiler was not working. Next day another technician came out and confirmed not only was the boiler not working, but that several things had been done wrong or had been neglected during the recent cleaning. He mentioned steps that should have been done after fixing the pipe, which I know were not done. He also made the comment : "I can see how this could have happened if that was turned off like that [referrring to a valve that was shut off]". These were his words. When we attempted to turn on the boiler, which included needing to reset the electrical circuit which had tripped, the boiler spark and tripped the circuit off again. Several calls to the company to discuss remediation on their part have not been returned. They sent a salesman out to sell me a new boiler as the existing one cannot be repaired (it was old to begin with (20 years) but had been working FINE!. I have asked to speak to management and no one will call me back. This has caused THOUSANDS of dollars of damage and major disruption to our lives. I would like them to take responsibility.
