Caveat Emptor (Let The Buyer Beware)We stayed at the By The Sea Guest House (A Bed And Breakfast) on 9/2/2021. We planned on staying for 3 nights but it was so bad we left after just one night. The window air conditioner vents were thick with dust creating air quality issues. There was a ***** liquid that dripped from the unit onto the wall and had dried there and was not cleaned for who knows how long.The bathroom fan was also covered with dust and dirt. We never turned it on and did not even shower there.One of the windows in the room was broken and would not stay open. This window slammed down on my fingers when I tried to open it.A bed had an exposed metal bed frame that could cause a tripping issue.In the hallway the window and screen are covered with what appears to be some type of mold.Guests entered the food handling area while breakfast was being prepared to mingle with the staff.The air conditioner made loud noises all night long and in the morning it died completely. We spoke to the owner and she was not even willing to look at the air conditioner. She just responded that is how it works. It wasnt working at all!The window screens were torn letting bugs into the room. There was clear carpet damage that was not repaired.Breakfast consisted of eggs and bacon not other choices. This is a Bed And Breakfast but the breakfast is sorely lacking. If you dont eat bacon all you have is eggs. The breakfast is worthless.Why stay here at a substandard location when for the same price the Edgewater Beach resort is just steps away or the Lighthouse Inn is nearby. Both are wonderful places to stay. Dont stay here.
