Hello,I have been charged since 4/2023. When telling planet fitness I never signed up for an account they ignored me and are still charging. I want my money back.Customer response

I emailed the *** ************************* and *********************** the person who oversees the franchise stores to inform them I had been charged for a membership I had requested be canceled in April of this year. I did not receive a response. The email below is what was sent to both individuals. In this case, I did not authorize a charge of $42.22 from planet fitness but they used my card and failed to refund me for the charge. "Hello there, I am emailing you regarding my experience with the planet fitness located at ************************* here in *********. I spoke to a man who identified himself as the general manager. I informed him that I was charged a fee of $42. 22 from planet fitness after having my account on hold for the last few months. Initially, I called to cancel the membership but was told I had to appear in person, or they could not do the cancellation. As an alternative, they stated they could only place the account on hold until I returned to the location in person. I asked the man who identified himself as the general manager to refund my money as I have made it clear that I would not be renewing and wanted to cancel. He stated planet fitness did not refund money for any reason. In this case, where I have repeatedly requested to cancel, they refused. I asked not to be charged for a renewal he stated that was not possible, then I asked for the manager, he claimed he was the only manager, and no one was above him. I asked for the owner, he stated he did not report to anyone, and that the owner only came by once a year. There are just too many coincidences here telling me this is a complete scam. I am not understanding why planet fitness would do business of this kind to any customer. It is very clear I have not been using the membership and that I want to cancel. What type of person do you have forcing payments on customers who support the gym and keep you in business?Business response

Our franchise does not cover any Planet Fitness Gyms in **********. The email you addressed is from the Planet Fitness in Dorchester ************* at *********************************** hope this complaint can be directed to the correct franchise!
