      I called Deveney and White on June 12th, 2023, for fabrication of a grave marker for my mother who was buried in the ***********, **, ***********************. They requested a deposit of $835 which I paid with my AMEX credit card on that day. Two days later (July 14), I found another company that fabricates markers for veteran's spouses at a significantly reduced cost. I called Deveney at that time and cancelled by order with them. During that call and numerous subsequent calls, I was told the return of my deposit was no problem, and would be taken care of soon. It is now July 18th, and after all of the assurances of reimbursement, I still have not received the return of my deposit. By my estimate, I have called Deveney approximately 20 times to resolve this issue. I am concerned that Deveney and White is stalling and may simply refuse to return my money.

      I only had two options to select:

      1. Heard from business and complaint was resolved, or

      2. Have not heard from the business.

      I selected option two because even though I heard from the business, the matter has not been resolved.  I was told that I would receive the refund, but there is a process for refunds.  Still no return of my funds.

      In March 2022 I called Deveney & White and asked if they were the company that placed the stone on our family plot. They placed me on hold and returned and said yes. I explained that my sister passed away and I would like her name placed on her ***** prior to her one-year anniversary of January 3rd. They immediately sent out paper work and requested the payment of the full amount $895.00. They treated me as if they knew my family. I immediately sent out the money which they cashed March 30, 2022. I left multiple messages and no return call. I then found the original paperwork in my mother's file and realized I had the wrong company. I called them and once again left a message this time requesting my money be returned. A few days later I received a call from ********* Deveney . She was so rude and applied bullying tactics I told her I was going to tape the conversation and she agreed. Why I am not sure. She then told me she went out and did a sketch. I told her I wanted a refund and if she could prove to me that she had done the sketch prior to me canceling I would pay her for her time, (Keep in mind there price is twice what I am paying for the correct company) She actually told me she lost her brother during COVID and I should have more understanding. (Come to find out she lost her brother years ago.) How could someone in this business treat a grieving family this way. I have called many times and I have not received any refund or any attempt to resolve.
