I contracted this business to build me a new back deck. The experience was terrible, but it got resolved and the project was finished. In the last 7 days, the company has been calling me from different phone numbers multiple times a day, never leaving a voicemail. I received a text message from the business on Friday night 4/24/25 asking me if I was interested in purchasing a back deck. I told the entity texting me (fairly certain it was a chat bot, as the texter would not provide me with a persons name despite my repeated asks) to remove me from their systems and to cease contact. That request was brushed off, and I started receiving calls again on Sunday 4/26/25. This repeated contact with no real effort to speak with me is bordering on harassment.

The company charged me for ****** Board, however replaced certain areas with PVC which is significantly less expensive. They are telling me that PVC is more expensive which is not true. I asked for them to refund me the difference in materials.

      Hello.

      This information is incorrect.

This customer received exactly what is on her agreement.

Our team have tried to explain this several times to the customer and subsequently offered to have our senior management come to her home and go through the contract to show exactly what was written on her agreement.

The customer refused this. We have the agreement showing she received exactly what was installed on her home and are happy to share this with whomever needs to see this.

As a company we have full transparency and would never conduct our business like this.

I have asked for receipts to prove that the substitution did not cost me anything extra.  They have not provided these.  In addition this company is not taking responsibility for a ceiling leak that was caused by the gutters not being installed correctly.  They were quick to say it was a roofing issue.  Since my roof was still under warranty and under two years old, I had the roofing company come out to review my concerns.  They did not find anything wring with their job.  I asked Capital to come out and address this issue, and they are refusing.  It only seems appropriate that they fix their mistake.

I have been nothing but disappointed by the lack of professionalism, bribery, and insulting, threatening behavior they have exhibited.  I would like resolution of these issues.

      Good afternoon .

None of this is accurate and completely fabricated.

This customer will not speak with any team members or management following our explanation (time and time again) the details of her agreement and she refuses to listen.

We have offered to have our senior management meet on site and go over every detail and explain each line item and the customer refuses.

Her agreement shows exactly what she paid for, and this is exactly what she received.

These outlandish claims of mistreatment are completely fabricated and hold absolutely no truth.

Every time there is an 'issue ' resolved she returns with another 'issue ' just as she has done in this complaint where it changes from the original complaint to now where she is being 'mistreated'. ?

Regarding her 'roof leak ' ************ installed gutters and siding and a deck -and completed NO WORK  on her exterior roof to cause any leaks.

We are a reputable company in business over 20+ years and this is not how we run our business.

We are happy to share her contract details and have management go over her agreement at any time.

Once again I am not surprised that this is the response I am met with  I do have all of my text interactions with project manager proving this as well as a second party that was witness and took the brunt of this behavior by the project managers. This company is quick to become defensive about any criticism I have brought to them, and continue to gaslight me even over this platform. I would greatly appreciate further investigation into the integrity of their business.  I requested not to work with certain project managers because of their behavior, which I have every right to do.

With any project multiple issues can arise.  I brought them to them and though some have been addressed it took a lot of effort on my part to be taken seriously as you can see from their response.  I am asking very clearly to see the difference in price of the products that were used vs the ones I agreed to in the contract and to have my interior ceiling fixed due to their erroneous connection of the gutters

I have asked for everything in writing from this company, rather than send a *** to tell me things that are not true  they have yet to follow through with this request.

These are very simple requests to fulfill.

      thank you,

      Meghan

      * In early April 2024, we attended the ** home show and had several "rebath" companies come to our home to provide us quotes for redoing our primary shower. Jacuzzi bath by Capital Construction Contractors was one of the contractors. * The sales person was young, and approached the quote very aggressively even though I asked him to not go through an entire powerpoint presentation. We told the salesperson we wanted to get a few other quotes and he spoke badly about the other vendors. Still, we were confident about the Jacuzzi product. He said he'd call us to check in. Another salesperson texted and negotiated with us:- I was told the install would take 1 day (as the other vendors said as well).- I was told they could install before we went on vacation in mid-July - contract said beginning June 24th. - We paid $7,425 for a deposit.* June 24th arrives, and we heard nothing from the salesperson or company confirming or delaying the install. When we tried contacting the company, we left several messages before receiving a call back. We were finally told the materials were back ordered.* July 15th, I called to follow up on status again. July 16th I received a call from **** to schedule installation for Friday, July 19th. * July 19th the installation crew arrives and looks at shower and says, "this is not a 1 day install - minimum 2-3 days. Also, the herringbone seams will not match up correctly." They spoke with their manager and left. I called ***********************, the salesperson, ****, and several others trying to get a call back and could not.* Finally, ***** returned my phone call and I let him know that I wanted to cancel the contract and service and I wanted my deposit back. I do not trust they will install properly. I have had to call 5 times to **** and ***** and have not received calls back with resolution. * July 22, I called and spoke with **** 2x and she said "****" would call me soon as he was done with a meeting. He has not. * I want my deposit back

We hired capital construction to install two new doors (one with a screen door) and a back french door (with screens). To say this project has been disappointing would be an understatement. More project managers (4) then actual times spent fixing items (3). First off, the original crew that dropped the doors off looked around then left. I had to call CC to get a crew out here to install them. They measured the doors wrong and had to frame out the house to get then doors to fit the front doors. During the frame out they cut wood that was not supposed to be cut. That had to be corrected. After a few days, the screen front door handle came off. ***** came out in January 2024 to fix but they did not have a handle and would have to order it. Finally fixed a few weeks ago. Screens to not fit still and waiting on weather stripping. I was told it was ordered but last contact with the ** was June 28th and said he would check. No response. They say Satisfaction Guaranteed on their trucks. I am not satisfied at all with them. How can they guarantee it?

I paid Capital Construction to put a new roof on my home . I put $10,000.00 for a down payment and then paid $18,500.00 dollars to total of $28,500.00 dollars. The roof is now bubbling and they stated that they would replace the wood on the roof, but I still have holes in the roof that they didnt fix. I thought I was paying for a new roof like they stated but that is not what I received for my payment.

1/27/24 we hired Capital to build a rooftop deck which was to include installing a rubber roof and building a composite deck. We were quoted 4-6 weeks for the timeline. We paid a $10K deposit on that day. 2/20 we met with our original project manager (PM1). He told us he could have roof materials delivered immediately and begin the project on 2/22. That didn't happen. 2/29 I received a text that materials would be delivered on 3/4. That didn't happen. 3/5 I reached out to PM1 by text and email and received an email rejection. I spoke with the office **************** Manager that same day and she told me PM1 was no longer with the company and we had been reassigned to PM2. I spoke with PM2 that day and he told me he should have my permit by the end of the week and the project would begin the following week. I never heard from him again after that. 3/26 I heard from PM3 for the first time. He told me he had been assigned to us and would be following up on our materials but never did. 4/22 I reached out to **************** and was told to expect a call from their VP of Production and that they would provide "a structured plan to move forward." It is now 6/13 and I have no such plan. 4/25 I received an email from said VP claiming that "the color of my decking had been discontinued." This was a blatant lie. 5/16 we met with PM3 and he assured us the project would be completed by Memorial Day. 5/24 a dumpster and porta potty were delivered with the plan for the project to begin on 5/28. 5/28 the crew no showed and I was told they'd be there 5/31 at 7am. 5/30 I was told the project would be delayed because "the town" hadn't issued the permit yet. 6/2 I reached out to the city myself about the permit. 6/4 I received a response that Capital still had not submitted all of the requested information. 6/6 I reached out to the owner of the company requesting removal of the dumpster. 6/11 the dumpster was removed and my home damaged in the process.

      Subject: RE: Permit update

Hi ******* yes, weve been going back and forth with the city and Ive been in contact with ******* myself. Even though the deck area would not extend beyond the footprint of the house, it increases the amount of occupiable space and what was provided to him wasnt going to be enough to satisfy them. He responded to me not until May ******************* an email that opens with My apologies for the delayed response telling us wed require a plot plan but one may be available from their records department. He gave me the contact info, I emailed them on Thursday and after a couple of back and forths, submitted the plot plan request to them. What they have will be sent to me within 10 days.

I also discussed with ******* the possibility of at least replacing the roof while the decking goes through the process. We can apply for an emergency roof permit and change out the description of the current permit to deck only. It will require an inspection to ensure the emergency status is it leaking at all? I got pictures of it from the top yesterday, if its leaking it should go through without issue.

I applied for the permit on February 12 and didnt get a reply back from the city until I prodded them on March 18 when I was told to reach out to Inspector *********************. They have 30 days to reply and it went a week beyond that. I heard nothing until they requested the assessors data on April 23 which was uploaded and again went unanswered until I prodded them again on May 23.

Once confirmed regarding leaks, I can split the permits into two and at least get roof done including the necessary setup required for the decking.

      Thanks

The city requested a plot plan from Capital Construction, not from me, in April. It is now mid-June and Capital is calling me telling me they need me to provide this. I do not have any such plot plan to provide them with. Obtaining everything needed for the permits is the responsibility of Capital Construction and why they're charging me for the permit process. They also clearly lied to me when they called on 5/30 and said they had submitted everything the city had requested.

They also in no way addressed the damage they did to my property with the dumpster that they left in my driveway for nearly 3 weeks in this response.

Capital Construction  have submitted the plot plan and are waiting to hear back from the City. At this point we are simply at their mercy . The customer refuses to accept this as a fact we have no control over .

Our Sales consultant , ************************* along with many other team members continue to explain this to the customer .We, as a company , cannot do anything until the city gets back to us. Again, we have explained this multiple times but the customer remains unhappy . We have the roof permit but not the deck permit . The Customer refuses at this point to let us do the roof portion . This is currently out of our hands until the city responds .

This response is factually untrue. I sent the mortgage plot plan to the city myself and the city is waiting for an updated COI from the contractor. They are not at the city's mercy, they haven't provided the city with all the necessary information. Capital continues to blame the city for their shortcomings. They also have yet to provide a plan to repair the damage they did to my property with the dumpster they left here for nearly 3 weeks with no intention of completing the project.

I have gone to your house and have removed all the trash bags and debris left from the installation. Your repairs have been scheduled to be done by weeks end. I had to order the materials for that, and it just came in today. The roll of rubber and the 2x6 lumber in your driveway will be removed at the completion of the repair job.
When my crew is done with the repairs, they will do a final walkthrough with you and at that time we can close out the job. It's been a pleasure working with you on this roof/ deck project.

This response is a copy/paste of an email that was sent to me on July 17. "By weeks end" on July 17 would have meant by July 20. That didn't happen and I heard nothing all last week until Friday 7/26. A crew did come out on Saturday 7/27. They were prompt and polite but they did not have all the supplies they needed to complete the repair. Specifically, the materials delivered were the wrong color. They told me they alerted Capital to this and that Capital would contact me with a plan to do the repairs with the correct material but I have heard nothing since. I also received a "final billing summary" today that has not been updated to remove items that were charged but not used during the project.

4/20, I noticed that my kitchen ceiling was cracking and turning yellow. The next day, I noticed the ceiling was beginning to leak and I immediately called a representative from Capital, *****. I ended up leaving her a voicemail and sending her a text. She got back to me and had someone come. He cut up my kitchen ceiling and said he could not see the pipes. He checked out the shower, and without cutting a hole or anything trying to diagnose the problem, he shifted the blame to either my toilet or my neighbor's shower. He had left and told us to contact our own plumber. We had someone come and he told us that the issue is most likely in the shower, but advised us to contact Capital again as we had a warranty with them. Knowing my past experience with them, I contacted my insurance for help but I stilI called/texted ***** again on Tuesday, and she told me on Wednesday that they are working on getting a crew to me. I contacted another plumbing company instead as my roof was leaking more and it had spread into the basement. He cut a hole in my wall next to the toilet and told me that it was 100% not the toilet. ***** got back to me and told me that someone would be coming Thursday. Come Thursday, nobody came, and I kept texting and calling to no avail. My insurance was able to send someone out and stop the leak. Now, I will have to rebuild both my bathroom and my neighbors bathroom. This will run me over ******, which is how much I paid to just remodel my shower. I would like EVERYTHING to be reimbursed from the plumbers I called, my insurance deductible, my insurance limit as my insurance will most likely be going up now, and ALL rebuilding costs for both my neighbors and I, as Capital kept ignoring my calls/texts and pinning the blame on everyone else instead of trying to fix the issue themselves. There was a nail in one of the pipes that was in the shower. I had never had any issue with my shower until I had this remodeled. This company is incredibly unprofessional.

      Hello,

Thank you so much for your response. I have attached a few photos, plumbing reports, and my text correspondence with *****. Few things I would like to note:

As you can see in my messages with *****, she had only sent someone out once, not twice as you stated in your response. She has been texting me, but as you can see I do not receive responses in a timely manner. For example, She did tell me someone would come out on Thursday, April 25, but ignored me when I asked when they would be coming. She then responded to me days later. Now, I have texted her Tuesday, April 30, and have yet to receive a response and today is *** 3.

I have called ***** and others a few times as well and usually do not receive a call back.

I hope you understand my frustrations and where I am coming from.

      Would appreciate a response.

      Regards,
      Sonica

The homeowner was shown and understood that this was not an issue caused by our team . Even though there was no damage caused by our company , as a courtesy  we agreed  fix the damaged wall panel that homeowners  plumber had damaged.  The Customer has agreed this damage was not the fault of *** .

I signed a contract with Capital Construction on 12/18/23 to replace windows in my Inn. Upon signing the contract I specifically told the contractor how important it was for them to have the windows installed in a timely fashion before our heavy wedding business had started. When I signed, they told me that it would ***********-8 weeks to order the windows and that they would have them installed towards the end of February 2024. It is now April 24 and I still have no installation date from the company after at least 20 phone calls. On some of the phone calls they told me that the windows were in in their ********************, which I don't think exists. Other phone calls were that they still had final measurements to make even though they had been out to measure 4 times. There were so many calls back and forth that untrue statements were made by them regarding the status of the job. At this point I am looking for a full refund of my deposit since installation of the windows would require scaffolding that would affect the aesthetics of the exterior of the building thus impacting upcoming weddings. This would upset the brides and to settle the matter with them we would have to refund a portion of the proceeds and would be subject to bad reviews on social media.

Windows have been delivered and the crew showed up today to start the installation, unannounced. Since we have guests arriving today for tomorrow's wedding, and since I initially told them they could only work Mon.-Thurs. morning, I asked them to return on Monday 4/29. I will await their return Monday morning.

With reference to my call to your office this morning advising you that Capital Construction did not follow up on their responsibility to return this morning, April 20, 2024, to star the installation of the windows. This case is not closed as you indicated this morning. How could I allow this crew to start the project with the rooms they were to install being occupied with wedding guests. This is why when I signed the contract I advised them that they could only access the smaller Inn from Monday mornings to Thursdays up until noon. During that time , the smaller Inn, where the windows are to be installed is not occupied with guests. This case is not closed since they have my deposit of $27,000 and have not started the work that was to be completed in February. The contract was signed on December 12, 2023. I would like to hear back regarding this situation as to how we can resolve this matter.

Regarding this case I would like to reopen the complaint and insist that I receive what my first demand was, for full refund. They came on site to install approximately 12 windows of the 30 plus windows we had paid them to replace. I personally was not notified that they left and took all the windows that were to be installed. I will not resolve or settle this complaint until my demand is satisfied. These people are criminals and their workmen have no clue what they are doing. We are at a point in our season where this work cannot be accomplished successfully due to the fact that our occupancy does not allow enough time to satisfy the contract I signed on 12/14/2023 where the windows were to be installed in February of 2024.

Capital Construction installed a new roof on my home in August 2022. Two issues showed up right way and it took months to get them back to correct these issues. Since January 2024, I have had two instances of the roof leaking. I have emailed Capital pictures and they have done nothing. I send weekly emails requesting an update and still no response. In the last response I received over a week ago, I was informed the matter would be forwarded to a VP but still no response.

Our team have been in contact with this customer and explained in detail that the leaks are associated with his gutters which Capital did not have any association with- not his roof ! . We told the customer we would arrange to have the Representative from GAF ******* manufacture visit his home to explain his roof has nothing to do with the leak from his gutters. This appointment is currently being set up and arranged with the homeowner

The ice shield installed by Capital is not adhered to the facia board (picture attached)  That is how water was able to damage the roof sheath.  The other leak in the room over the garage is not even near a gutter.

Capital only responded after I submitted this complaint.  I must constantly follow up to get a response.

On 4/29/2024 I sent additional pictures to ******* of the drip edge separating at the corner (attached) I ask for him to call me, he has not.  This has been a constant issue with Capital, they never follow up.

This delay is unacceptable and normal standard operating procedure for Capital.  It took me at least 3 months to get the first set of issues resolved.  Always an excuse, this person left, oh I didnt see your email.

Assign it to someone else at Capital and the manufacturer.

Or, how about just refund my $27,000 and I will leave you alone.

Please know, We have explained to the customer, the leak he is experiencing is not connected in any way to the new roof installed by CCC but is in relation to his gutters which our company have not had any dealings with. We have a team going out this week to do a full service inspection and follow up with the customer.

Going out this week???  Were you planning on contacting me to schedule this???

As I have stated before,  one leak is not even near a gutter.  Plus any damage to gutter was caused by CCC.  I have been in this house for 24 years and the only issues I have had is after I mistakenly hired CCC to replace my roof.  It has been a nightmare since day one.

In the pictures your employee took you can clearly see the ice shield pulling away from the facia.   That has to leak and has nothing to do with the gutter.

By the way, why don't you sign your name,  I would like to know who I am dealing with.
