Farina came out to look at a roofing problem we are having. They diagnosed the issue and said it would cost $500 to fix. I agreed. Their online form asked for a $165 down payment for the work to begin. I agreed and complied. Two weeks later they will not return calls or emails and have pocketed the $165.Business response

On 8/31/2021 our entire roof was replaced by RB Farina, we paid $12,874.00 in total. The contract states that: "In a minority of our roofing projects, damaged sheathing may be identified during the installation process once the shingles are removed. When this is the case, additional charges for sheathing replacement will apply at a rate of $135.00 per sheet (plywood), or $5,50 per linear foot, if it is a (wood board)." At the time, the supervisor never mentioned anything about our sheathing.During Dec 2022, the roof started to leak.On 12/22/2022 someone came by and identified that a ridge vent's supporting feet went underneath the roofing and directly into the home and came by on 1/13/2023 to apply tar to the source as a temporary fix under warranty and informed me that the vent was never their responsibility and that I would need to hire other contractors to permanently fix the feet.June 2023, the roof began to leak again so I hired a new set of contractors (******** construction ******************************** to apply the permanent fix.******** contractors came by on 7/2 and identified that the shingles were coming off the roof in certain places. Taking a closer look under the shingles, they identified that the sheathing (plywood) was rotten. They took photos and videos to demonstrate the deteriorated sheathing.I paid ******** $2500 to repair the ridge vent feet and replace the sheathing around the dormer on 7/5, but they informed me that other parts of the roof also had their shingles coming up which suggested rotten sheathing. They attached pictures where you can see rotten plywood, or no plywood at all.On 8/3 and again on 8/8, I sent emails to RB Farina to come by and look into fixing the remaining sheathing. I have attempted to call them every day for the past week at multiple points in the day and I have not received a response. I fear that parts of my home are experiencing water damage every day they dont come by.Initial Complaint

Transaction date 6/29/22, Total invoice was $4750. $499 is the amount of one of the line items - Gutter Cleaning. After review with the estimator on site I was told the inside and outside of gutters would be cleaned on the main house and garage. Also, I was told the entire job would take 2-3 days to complete. They were on site for one day and performed the other work as requested and only cleaned the inside and outside of the gutters on the garage, not the main house. When I reached out to the Supervisor who was on site most of the day, he indicated that cleaning the outside of the gutter was not part of the job. I explained my concerns and asked why the estimator thought the job would take 2-3 days and they were only there for one and the fact they cleaned the inside and outside of the gutter on the garage and not the main house. The Supervisor said he would have the Manager contact me to explain. I've reached out to the Supervisor 3x who did return my call each time and was very apologetic. He told me he would ask the Manager to call again. I have not received any communication from the Manager yet.Business response

Farina put a roof on my house starting dated 3/23/21 , ending in late April 2021, When they started the job I asked numerous times why they didnt have gutter guards on their ladders to protect my new gutters, well now I have dented and scratched gutters thanks to Farina. They also pulled down red cedar shingles off my house, in order to put the ice and water shield in the front and side and said they would replace them. When it came time to do the replacing I see a box of cheap light weight white cedar house shingles, that are never used in New England apparently they thought I was stupid. I paid for the red cedar, which had to done 2x ripped off the house $500. which are still not painted, They sheered off the limbs of a new magnolia tree and killed a 22 year old hydrangea. Nails are still in most of the gutters, they were not cleaned out,. The dormer trim went missing, they had an inexperienced company that I also paid $950, (pictures) block the gap in front dormer but the side dormer, I recently noticed not done, still has gaping holes with birds flying in and out making their homes. Farinas friends put those toddler blocks on my front dormer(ridiculous) and reshingled my house with shingles I paid for when they were stripped from the front of my home during a roofing job. They should have covered the cost as materials and labor as contract says, The window caulking job they also did. Hideous, the vinyl trim around my windows is now ruined, They used a caulk that didnt dry and cut the hole too big, it looks like dirty soft serve ice cream. They should be ashamed to have even taken my money for this and now i have to pay more to have all the caps replaced. The tree and the shrub, two boxes of red cedar shingles plus painting them, and charging me! All the windows with the caulking, the nails in the gutters, the dormers need the trim replaced asap. I feel taken advantage of, as a senior woman. I hope my roof never leaks. I would like to be reimbursed for some,
