      I am disputing a business dealing with Carmen Fashions Bridal in Fall River, MA. On 2/26 I put a down payment of $650 on a dress after being told the dress would take months to arrive. I was informed that any cancellation would result in store credit. On Tuesday 3/1 I found a dress at a different shop. On 3/2 I called CFB and left a voicemail with my name & phone number asking for my order to be canceled. On 3/3 the saleswoman called back & told me there would be a $100 cancelation fee. This was not posted, written, or told to me verbally prior to this. She responded, “we never had a bride cancel an order before, so why would we say/write that anywhere?” I told her I would have my bridesmaids get their dresses using my credit and was told this was fine. On 3/26 I went with my mom to look for her dress. I reminded them of my credit and asked to speak to “the owner or a manager” to which the saleswoman walked away – she is one of the owners. On 4/9 I returned with 4 bridesmaids. We found dresses for 2 of them, but employees said do not buy until the full order was in. I reminded them of my store credit & they wrote it down on the order forms. On 4/11 my bridesmaid went to buy a dress and use my credit and they said that store credit can only be used for half of the purchase. On 3 visits and one phone call, this has never been explained. This policy is not posted on their website, my carbon copy receipt, or anywhere in store. My fiancé called and asked their policy over the phone. They mentioned that store credit can be used in full for a dress – no mention of the 50% policy. He asked for the policy in writing and they refused to provide this. He asked to have it spelled out on their website, they could not offer this in legal writing. A saleswoman, not even the owner who helped my bridesmaid, called me and left a voicemail. She states “maybe no one mentioned the 50%” and stated several incorrect dates about these dealings. All phone logs and voicemail can be provided.
