Boston Heart would not release test results without payment first, but would not take payment at time of services, and never billed me. I called to ask about test results and was informed of this policy for the first time, so I paid with a credit card over the phone and they released test results. Now they have billed me twice for that same test that I already paid for, and say it is past due. When I called the first time they said it was "a glitch." When I was billed again I called and they again said I owed the money but when I pointed out that I could not have gotten test results without first paying, they agreed that was policy, "and will speak to a manager." I asked that manager call me, and am waiting for that call. I feel like this is a fraudulent attempt to collect more money, and I wonder how many other patients are experiencing this "glitch."Business response

We have received and investigated the patient complaint relative to a payment that was made for a lab service that was not properly credited and resulted in additional billing. I have reached out to the patient and let them know that it was a system error that we have not only fixed but scheduled further audit to ensure that this did not happen to any other patients. The payment was posted to paypal and the paypal file was not uploaded to our billing system. Going forward, we will not be using paypal and will no be able to directly post patient payments to the billing system.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.
I am waiting to close this out to be sure Im not still getting bills. I got one last week that threatened to turn me over to collections. I got a call from Boston Heart that same day, saying theyve taken care of it, but they told me that before, and I kept getting bills.

***********************************, JD, CHC (VP of Compliance for Boston Heart) reached out to the patient twice, first to identify the facts and the issues and, second, to confirm that the billing error had been corrected and assure patient that she had a zero balance and would not receive another bill from Boston Heart relative to this date of service. ******** gave patient her cell phone number and will remain available if the patient wishes to have additional discussions regarding the billing error that has been resolved.
