    I made a reservation to stay at Captain's ********************** on July 8, 2022. On July 6, 2022 my son came home not feeling well and tested positive for Covid. The Covid protocols for ************* at that time I had to isolate for 5 days. So I had to cancel all vacation plans for the next 5 days. I had a deep sea fishing trip planned for the 8th. I called the fishing charter and Captain's ********************** to cancel my reservations. The fishing charter fully understand and canceled with no issues. But Captain's ********************** canceled my reservation but refused to refund my money. Just to be clear. I booked this room through Booking.com. When I found out I had come into contact with my son, who was positive and showing symptoms of covid, it was past the free cancellation period. I knew that but the situation was not my fault. It was a Covid protocol. If I wouldn't have cancelled I could have infected many people. So I figured I was doing the right thing. No choice. Since this was no fault of mine I thought something could be worked out with the business. With that said. I called Captain's ********************** about 20 times over 40 days. Same answer every time the manager has to make the decision. The managers name is *****. That person never returned my calls. I booked the room through Booking.com so I also used them to try to resolve the situation. This mess has been going on for about 40 days. After the 3rd e-mail from Booking.com they finally answered and denied my request for a refund.I would like it, if possible, if you could get involved and determine if I am entitled to a refund as all of this is due to Covid protocols not my knee jerk decision to just not go.This was during my vacation to visit my son and his family in upstate NY. I live in Alabama. My vacation was ruined due to my requirement to isolate for the mandated 5 days and paying this room I didn't use due to covid is wrong. I Paid $170 and would like a refund.

    We were in a room loaded with flea type bugs and had to leave the room and were refused a refund.
