I paid $175 to Teachable and $175 to Eat To Beat Disease. I was promised a full refund, but only received a refund from Teachable. I am still owed $175 for Eat to Beat Disease for a course I was unable to attend. ******** has employed a representative named *** who has been cynical, dishonest, disparaging, degrading, thereby creating a contentious encounter that has still yet to resolve my issue and provide the promised refund. *** sends very rude and unprofessional emails and is dishonest about applying the full refund.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered. [You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.  If you do not enter a reason for your rejection, your complaint will be closed as Answered.]Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.FAQThis company apparently operates under several names or DBA monikers. The reason for the confusion with the refund, the same confusion they choose to dishonestly hide behind is that they are Teachable, they are Eat To Beat Disease, and now I see their name as Quintessential. There is no question as to why this case has taken so long to resolve, but in my business dealings honesty is the only policy. I will never put a dime into this organization again and I will discourage the groups I informed of the way this company mismanaged my funds to do the same. The courses did not fit my schedule and they agreed to a full refund. If I paid $350, by 2 payments of $175, refunding one is simple math. How dare they attempt to steal and then defame from the very clients who initially supported their business. Regards,*******

This is a response to the rejected previous response by Ms ****** She states in her response, “This company apparently operates under several “names” or “DBA” monikers. The reason for the confusion with the refund, the same confusion they choose to dishonestly hide behind is that they are Teachable, they are Eat To Beat Disease, and now I see their name as Quintessential”

I want to address her confusion here which may help clear up part of this situation There are not several names or DBA-

? The COMPANY – is Quintessentiali

? The COURSE she signed up for is called – Eat To Beat Disease

? The PLATFORM the course is hosted on is called- Teachable

? There is only one company. One course is referenced here, and then the online platform the course is hosted on, which is not unusual at all and is the entire reason that platforms like Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, etc., exist.

Teachable is the PLATFORM on which the course is hosted.

Per our last email we included Teachable’s policy when the customer has DISPUTED the charged.

Ms ****** very clearly did a dispute with her credit card company.  Due to that Teachable is not able to push a refund as that would very clearly being paying someone twice

She was REFUNDED 175 immediately upon reaching out.

She was informed the previous charge on 9/23 was OVER 30 days and Teachable would have to assist.

She wanted to (and then did) dispute with her card company. Again, Ms ****** did a dispute with her credit card company.

Again at that time, when a DISPUTE is begun, no company can refund as that would be paying her twice (the card giving her money back and the platform doing the same) and so she would have had an extra $175.  Her credit card notified the PLATFORM our course is hosted on (which is NOT our company, but the HOSTED platform)

Ms ****** needs to speak to her credit card company at this time to see where in the process her DISPUTE is.  Teachable was able to let us know that her credit card company is due to give their response by March 16.

There is nothing Teachable or our company can do while the DISPUTE is in process.  If her credit card company does NOT allow her to keep the funds they released when the dispute was filed, she can reach out after that time. But again, due to legal issues and Teachables process, when a dispute is filed the company can not move forward

Ms ****** was immediately refunded 175 and disputed the other 175 which her credit card notified us they credited to her.

      FAQ

Once again, this company charged $175 under Teachable and $175 under Eat to Beat Disease. My **************** card shows this.

As previously noted, I only received one of the credits for $175 and was awaiting the other for over 2 months when I emailed the company.

Their representatives were so incredibly rude, it was unbelievable.

I will not permit this company or any other to dupe me out of a refund that they did promise to ****** This is simple math folks: $175 + $175 = $350. Why they do not understand this?

They intended to make it impossible for me to receive a full refund, while under the guise of granting it.

My advice to everyone: Do not sign up for these cash grab courses. Attend a reputable university that is not dishonest in their dealings.

As a business owner myself, I would never put a client through this. If I make a promise, I keep it.

I am disappointed as my expectations were clearly higher than substandard, which is why they severely failed to meet them.

      Regards,

      *******
