The company will not return and trim shingles that overhang the drip edge in the back of the house and garage. I've written two letters and when he called to talk to me about the issue he shouts THERE IS NOTHING WRONG and talks so loudly that I have to back down even though I realize that he is not correct. He refuses to listen and will not correct the situation. Thank you ***** *********

Consumer Response /* (3000, 6, 2022/03/29) */ Sorry I forgot to put in my complaint that the day before they put the roof on Mr. Miner assured me that his company follows all of Certainteed's Manufacturers Recommended Installation Instructions. I have from Certainteed their Drip Edge Overhang Technical Information Sheet #103 and it states they recommend that the shingles overhang the drip edge approx. 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch but typically no more than an inch. So this is proof that he is not following the manufacturer's recommended installation instructions. I have pictures to prove how much it overhangs. I can see that this is the case on the back of the house on the garage part of the roof but cannot see on the second story if that is the case also. That will need to be checked. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/04/07) */ While the homeowner appreciates the explanation of the technical aspects of how and why the shingles got to hang over to begin with, the fact still remains that the shingles need to be trimmed for two obvious reasons: so the shingles will not crack because there is nothing under them to support them and the drip edge can properly do its job. Also, the homeowner needs to know why when the roof runner was put on it did not cover the whole roof just the top of the roof. Business Response /* (1000, 18, 2022/04/19) */ I have spoken with the home owner and have set up a time and date to go to her home and check the shingles overhanging into the gutter. I also explained to her the reason why the roof runner is only at the top of the house. The reason is the ice and water barrier is at the first nine feet of the roof. If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Consumer Response /* (3000, 23, 2022/04/21) */ If you watch the official CertainTeed Integrity Roof System video it states and shows that the roof runner covers the whole roof, not just some of it. That was not done. But the homeowner understands at this point in time nothing can be done to correct that. When the homeowner spoke with Mr. Miner on April 14, he ended the conversation with "when you're happy, I will be happy". On May 3 when he arrives here, the homeowner hopes that he brings the proper tools and a few workers and pics are taken of the back right side second story drip edge/shingles to show the homeowner. Then trim if they hang over too far. If the back left side shingles can be trimmed to approx. 1/4 to hang over the drip edge then the homeowner will be happy.
