    On 3/19/20, I provided ************************* of Ball Carpentry with a $3,808 deposit for custom carpentry work at our home for a fireplace mantle and surround flanked by tall built-in bookshelves and cabinet storage at the base. After numerous communications, text messages promising to delivery on a date-certain without follow-through, and an array of excuses for failure to perform ranging from illness, injury, and vacation time to a busy schedule and backordered supplies no deliverables whatsoever have been provided. On 2/2/22, I notified Ball Carpentry that it was in our best interest to go in another direction and requested a return of my deposit. Agreeing that the deposit was owed, Ball Carpentry returned $1,000 on 2/21/22. After additional outreach, another $500 was returned on April 11, 2022. After patient efforts to accommodate a payment plan, and numerous additional communications, some of which were completely ignored, I have yet to collect the remaining $2,308 of the deposit paid to Ball Carpentry for services never rendered and deliverables never installed.

    Took $2,415 deposit on May 6, 2022 for cabinets and radiator cover to be designed and built. Initially said he was busy, I asked that it be completed by Thanksgiving of '22. Came back to remeasure and told me that he was staring work on July 18, 2022, took 2nd payment per his payment schedule. I sent numerous text messages over the summer asking for an update. He's sick, his mother died, he's behind. Told me February 15 that he planned on a hard install date for March 2, and if not completed would refund my money. February 27 said he needed 2 more days, texted me on March 8 that he was still working on it and would install the following week. Also called me with some sob story that he hired the wrong person and the job wasn't to his standard and he was staring over. On March 15 he said he was staining the first coat. From that point he has not returned any messages or calls. A small claims case has been filed.
