I hired lawn doctor to treat my lawn thru the 2022 season. After many issues over billing and poor results my lawn was so bad I decided to have them overseed it in the fall of 2022. I specificly asked if the gaurenteed the seeding and they said yes. In the spring of 2023 no seed came up and my lawn is mostly dirt. I requested a refund but only got lies and excuses from the manager. I paid them $450.00 for a service they gaurentee and it failed. I am entitled to a refund and also $65.00 for not doing the final treatment that I paid in advanced. they should not be allowed to sell a service wont stanb behind. if you look at all the complaints you will see a common problem exists with lawn doctorBusiness response

This is not our customer. We do not service *********Business response

************ cancelled his service prior to us being able to apply the last application of fertilizer that he did pre-pay for. We did power seed his lawn in the fall of 2022 and I did agree to re-do it in the spring if needed. (this is not typical for a customer that cancels the service. If the customer is still active, we warrantee germination and would re-do in the spring as part of the warrantee). The original price for the power seeding was $545 which ************ agreed to pay. I applied a credit of $60 to the cost of the seeding which was equivalent to the cost of the last service that we could not perform because ************ cancelled his account. Therefore making the balance for the power seeding $485. We did not overcharge ************* ************ contacted us in the spring of 2023 stating that he would like the seeding re-done which we were prepared to do. However, ************ informed us that hired another lawn care provider who applied a crabgrass pre-emergent to the lawn prior to his call to us. Due to this application of pre-emergent, seed would not germinate due to the fact that this material prevents seed from germinating for up to 3 months. I informed ************ of this and explained that I cannot re-do the seeding because it will not germinate. He then asked for a refund for the seeding that was done on the fall of 2022 and I informed ************ that I was not prepared to do that.
In closing, I was prepared to re-do the original seeding but do to the fact that ************ hired a different provider that applied a material to the lawn that prevents seed from germinating, re-doing the seeding was no longer an option.

I am rejecting this response because: I told Derek to finish my prepaid applications for the season and then cancel my account. He agreed and then offered to due the last application for free and later refused and never did do it. As for the power seed I specificly asked Derek if the satisfaction gaurentee would apply for this service which is clearly stated on the Lawn Doctor website. today 7-26-2023 my back lawn is dirt no grass. I got an estimate to repair for $700 plus. I paid Lawn Doctor every penney I owed them even after a whole season of issues. I did business with lawn doctor in good faith so they should do the same and refund $500 for poor service and not honoring the satisfaction gaurentee. I paid over $800 to lawn Doctor for 2022 and in 2023 I have lost use of my dead backyard. This entire ordeal is outrageus. Busnesses cannot walk away from responsibility for work the sell to the public.
Sincerely,

"I told Derek to finish my prepaid applications for the season and then cancel my account. He agreed and then offered to due the last application for free and later refused and never did do it." This is simply not true. I never refused to do his last application. Either way, I gave him a $60 credit towards the seeding. My offer to **** was to re-do the seeding in the spring, not to refund. ****'s actions to hire a company that applied a material to his lawn prohibited me from following through with the agreement that we made in October of 2022.Customer response

I received the last respone from bbb asking for my respone but I had no place to type a reply.
The last reply from Lawn Doctor is typical for them. Excuses and lies. Always saying everything was my fault. The fact is I want a refund because the advertise satisfaction gaurenteed. This is false advertising to trick customers. I demand a refund .
