Hired contractor to update bathroom, kitchen floors. Took down load bearing walls, didn’t put header where new windows were placed. Worked only part time, had no employees show up. He was to be paid $20,000.00 on completion. 5 grand up front. Gave him another 5 grand, against my better judgment. THAN another 2,500.00!!! That was it, told him no more!! He again asked for an advance, I said no. He quit and left me with a huge mess!!! City of Auburn came for electric issues and they shut me down. Unsafe with no running water. This is a rental unit in my 2 unit house. I now have no money to hire anyone and I’m losing rental income that I desperately need. I’m on disability with that now being my only income. I could be homeless soon. Please help me. I am desperate. I’m also 63 years old. I truly believe that Marcus is on disability or workmen comp. and his webpage is totally bogus. I have before and after videos to send to.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.  This guy never showed up until he wanted to. Which was rarely and could never find people to work. I had to try to get people here so that promised work would get done. He kept asking for money that was not agreed on. Agreement was $5,000.00 to start, another 5,000.00 when he finished my 2nd floor renovations. And the balance of $10,000.00 when completed. I’m a big softy so I gave him another 5,000.00. about 2.5 weeks in. Very little work was done. He ripped down a perfectly good wall because he said it had different size wood!! Who cares?? Totally unnecessary. He cut Sheetrock that didn’t fit and requires a whole lot of patching up. He also broke my toilet and a heating line that had to be replaced. He cut my entry door so badly that it needs to be replaced. Asked again for cash. Dummy me gave him another $2500.00.  So now he’s been paid $12,500.00. And still he’s barely getting anything done. Promised to be done upstairs in two weeks. Never happened and is still inhabiteable. Have no plumbing and shady electric. The city of Auburn came for permitting and couldn’t believe what they were seeing. They shut me down and said I couldn’t proceed until work was corrected and properly permitted. So now I’m loosing my rental income and now can’t afford to hire anyone. He took the money and ran. He asked again for more money and I said no. Ridiculous. He than quit. Threw my keys on my porch and he was gone. He trashed my unit and piled his garbage in my hallway and at my bulkhead, trash!!! I’m now working with the city building people, trying to get a emergency grant. It’s a slow process and I’m trying very hard to get this habitable. I’m on disability and will not survive with out rental monies. He literally got me for more like $15,000.00. And I’m going to have to pay for someone to fix what he broke and for the redoing of the bad unsafe windows that have no headers, thank you Marcus Morton. I want my money back. It’ll be 12 years I’ve owned this building in June of 2022. I finally got a small home equity loan. All I wanted was to update bathrooms and kitchen. That’s it. He’s a bad person and he robbed me. I want my money back!! And I want the world to know what a crook he is!!!! Thank you. Patsy GodinP.S. nothing that comes out of his mouth is true, he doesn’t know truth, it’s not in him. The only thing I did wrong was hire him.
