December 30th 2021 Transacted a trade of a vehicle in for the purchase of another vehicle traded: 2021 Toyota Tacoma VIN:3TYCZ5AN0MT031573 vehicle purchased: 2017 volkswagon GTI VIN: 3VW447AU9HM026134 The complaint comes in the form of the owner of the business John, advertising and selling the vehicle as listed as the "Autobahn" package. When in reality without my prior knowledge after checking with another VW certified dealer, the car I was sold was an SE trim level. This makes thousands of dollars of difference leaving me as a victim to false advertising and paying much more than what the car is worth. Sold GTI to me for $27,489 (market value according to KBB on a autobahn package similar miles/year/condition is 20,000) (MV according to KBB on SE package with similar features miles/year condition is 18,132) John had also sold me the vehicle with an expired MA state inspection sticker without my knowledge, and with a check engine light (legally would not pass MA state inspection, AKA a lemon). Allowing me to drive off the lot in an unsafe vehicle breaking MA state laws. Johns amount of value he gave me for my trade in ($36,500) was minimum $3,500 lower than any other offer I was given for the Tacoma, my maximum offer for the vehicle being $41,250 from Vroom inc. for the 2021 Toyota Tacoma John had also attempted to hide the vehicles carfax from me as he was attempted to conceal the minor damages the vehicle incurred which somehow did not appear on the front page in the "accidents reported" column. I am now in a loss of thousands between the degraded value of the trade in, the degraded value of the vehicle I was sold, the out of pocket expenses in which I fronted to fix the issues (license plate light, waterpump, thermostat, belt, inspection) I have picture proof of the vehicles check engine lights, the issues documented by a certified VW dealership, a copy of the sales receipt, past trade in values, the carfax report, and repair receipts
