RiverWorks Credit Union, as well as any other Financial Institution Union, takes Identity Theft very seriously. However, RWCU has not received any of the documentation listed above directly from the consumer nor from any ************************* stating victim of Identity Theft. The list of major consumer reporting agencies, per the ************************************ are:
Equifax **************
Experian **************
TransUnion **************In addition, you should create an Identity Theft Report because it can help you get fraudulent information removed from your credit report, stop a company from collecting debts caused by identity theft (there may be other creditors), and get information about accounts a thief opened in your name.
To create an Identity Theft Report:
file a complaint with the *** at ftc.gov/complaint or **************; TTY: **************. Your completed complaint is called an *** Affidavit.
take your *** Affidavit to your local police, or to the police where the theft occurred, and file a police report. Get a copy of the police report. The two documents comprise an Identity Theft Report.At this time, RiverWorks Credit Union has updated the credit report(s) to reflect that the item listed on the credit report is being disputed by the consumer, pending additional information and our completed investigation to determine all relevant facts. RiverWorks Credit Union will need the following documentation as required for the identity theft dispute to complete the process:
(1)appropriate proof of the identity of the consumer;
(2) a copy of an identity theft report;
(3)the identification of such information by the consumer; and
(4) a statement by the consumer that the information is not information relating to any transaction by the consumer.
