The main reason for filing this complaint is that our home was inspected and it was determined that the garage door that was installed by this company is not to code and is a safety hazard, making it illegal.The opener is plugged into an extension cord when it is supposed to have it's own fixture in the ceiling. Also, the safety monitor, so the door doesn't close on a car or person, was never connected.This company was very difficult to work with. Their first employee started the job and then went out of the country without notice or any communication for days. The owner was not cooperative at all and when the job was finally completed by another employee, I was asked to pay more for his labor. In the end I paid $5,600, when the insurance company gave an estimate of around $1,800.We would like to job to be completed so that it is to code, but I would happily take a settlement from them in order to pay someone else to fix what needs to be done.Thank you.
