Dear ***/*****,I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern involving a plumbing company that recently serviced my home. I am seeking your assistance in resolving this issue, as I believe the company's billing practices have been unfair and lack transparency.On 7/16/23, I encountered a boiler leak at my residence. The plumbing company in question was called for an emergency service to address the leak. Subsequently, they replaced the boiler on 7/19/23, charging a substantial amount of $9,850.00 as a flat fee for the replacement.My primary concern is the lack of a preliminary quote or estimate before the commencement of the work. Despite the emergency nature of the service, I was not given an opportunity to make an informed decision regarding the costs involved. Furthermore, I attempted to negotiate the invoice amount with the company, emphasizing the lack of prior communication regarding the potential costs. However, the company has maintained that the charges are non-negotiable, leaving me with a significant financial burden that I was not prepared for.I believe that consumers have the right to receive clear and detailed information about the costs of services before they are rendered, even in emergency situations. I am hopeful that with the intervention of the BBB, we can find a resolution that is fair and just.I have attached copies of the invoice for your review.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
