Joined gym Work Out World in March 2021. Monthly payments are automatically taken from my bank account as well as an annual fee of $59.99 paid in advance for the upcoming year. Paid this fee last April 2021 to cover into 2022. Medford WOW Location is closing the end of this May but they still took annual fee of $59.99 for upcoming year 2022 - 2023. Other locations of WOW are too far for me to get to. Had my bank put in a claim requesting money back and WOW *** financial services denied my request. Called numerous times but was told I couldnt reach corporate office to complain. Also, wrote a letter in April 2022 terminating my membership and requesting annual fee of $59.99 credited to my account. Have not heard back.Business response

I joined World of Workout Medford on 16th October and due to unforeseen circumstances, I have been wanting to quit the services of the gym. They had told me that I could quit the gym whenever I felt like it. I sent a mail within the first month and they replied saying I either need to move out of town or give a doctors note. So I thought this might just be the case for the first month. They deducted money for the whole year as a membership fee. I said nothing. It was a procudure I had agreed to. The second month also they are not letting me cancel the membership. They say I will have to pay extra for an early release because I am quitting in less than 11 months. I just want the membership to end.Business response

If you wish to cancel, you have a $59 buyout fee you may pay to get out of your one year commitment. I have attached your signed agreement to this with your full cancellation policy. To get this processed, please stop into your gym and pay the fee, and then you may submit your cancellation once this is paid off.
