    We bought a new Condominium at ******************** in ********, ** on November 2020 for $513,842. Like all new places we had provided a punch list on all items that we wanted addressed. They have cleared most of the items, with a few remaining open. There is one open item that is of concern to me, which is the backfiring noise we are getting from our furnace. I consider this a safety issue if it is happening because of gas building up prior to ignition. The problem is that the backfiring is not consistent and varies on how load the backfiring is. The installers have been out a few times but have not resolved the issue and that is why I asked for a service rep to come out. This furnace is a new high energy furnace that service heat, air and on demand hot water.I originally submitted an open item request on December 30, 2020 and put in another request on August 4, 2021. Since then, I sent a certified letter to the managing director of Thorndike for the ******************** site on August 23, 2021. I received a voice mail, saying they would request service rep. I then received a text to say they could not get a rep to come out, but the installer would come out and get a rep on the phone when he was here, to walk through the problem and resolve the issue. On September 27, 2021 I sent an email to the managing director, because I was still waiting on a resolution. I also told them the hangers were continuing to rust and an aqua color is continuing to spread. I have continually requested customer service to get the contractor to come and resolve this issue and never get a response.

    Misrepresented what we bought in ******************** in ******** **. Owners still have unresolved issues within condos that could pose serious problems if not fixed. We have ongoing problems that have not been addressed: cracks in cement, leaks inside and out, doors installed backwards, veneer falling off exterior of buildings, substandard workmanship and problems with the outdoor sprinklers. ******************************* company are not responding to inquiries. Its widely acknowledged that Thorndike bought substandard outdated units and let them sit in storage for a very long time. They close repair tickets without doing the repairs. Floors are not level in some units and planks are buckled. There are electrical problems and ongoing problems with residents heating/cooling units. Water leaks from substandard plumbing. Rainwater comes in. Thorndike is not helping with this and leaves all these problems to our HOA to fix at owners expense. They are not ethical in their business decisions. Its sad that substandard is the new standard for todays builders.
