I found Everpresent when I wanted to take our old family photos and digitize them as I was working on a memoir with my father. The salesperson on the initial call said that once we dropped our 101 photos off it'd be about 1-2 weeks for them to scan them in and then about a week to get them back. They charge by bundle so I could have had 150 photos, but I had 101 which is the worst amount to have since I paid for 150 photos. What I found was that every step of the way for everything you could imagine possibly they charged you a upcharge - and they kept your photos hostage while doing so, not returning them until you paid for each next upcharge. You had a piece of tape on a corner or a staple? Charge. Your photos are discolored? Charge. oh you want them back? charge. Oh you want them back faster (because I was told a week I said no, and they arrived a month later). Then after all the torture you login and try to get a link to download your photos? request entered, you cant actually directly download them, they received your request and then eventually send you a link. They automatically charge you for storage as a yearly subscription on going unless you get in there to cancel. Here I am thinking that in 3 weeks for less than $100 Id have my photos scanned 3 months later for more than $500 I finally received my 101 photos. Please do not ever use them and try somewhere else.Review from Joseph V

A costly, disappointing company. Our family trusted Everpresent's initial project cost estimate based on their experience and paid a deposit of half up-front, but we were later charged nearly double the deposit amount before they'd do the work, and then ultimately $675 -above- the already higher projected cost, over 15% higher. Take note that our slides were meticulously organized and preserved by a now deceased family member... and untouched since, until they opened them and gave us the projected cost. The project was also over a month late and only completed after we pointed out that their own (poorly designed and limited) app showed there had been no new photos added for over 2 months by the time the completion date came and went. In the end we even missed being able to print out photos for an elderly family member for Easter because they hadn't sent a download link in time (they blamed Gmail's spam filters, ironically in an email response... Which proves their mail was getting through - though I did check to be sure), and the app locks out downloads by requiring an extra step, and despite multiple emails back and forth I gave up. Terrible communication, slow and dodgy excuses in follow-up, defensive... didn't return phone calls, and didn't even have the courtesy to apologize or even try to explain in the slightest for the price jumps or lateness or poor service. I'm reasonable and most often post 5-star reviews across ****** and other sites to reward good companies and help them attract potential customers, as my family and I trust this same review process to help steer us away from these mistakes. After 7 months we did get the files on a thumb drive and are happy to never think about this company again. Whatever good reviews we saw might as well have been for an entirely different company than what we encountered. I can't explain the difference. Ours was a big project and I've never known large orders to be treated substandard.Review from Kara H

Ever present made a big deal about how they look at my video as the recording and how long it takes and how much they put into it and make sure its quality when I got four of my digitized videos back. It was all just commercials when I asked for a refund they refused and said that they are not responsible for the contact and when I told them, the person who was in charge of my staff said that they would make sure everything was really well put together and that there was no junk on it, they just said sorry ******* no can do so I spent $300 on just commercials I wont use them again and I wont recommend them save your money by run equipment and do it yourself or find another companyReview from Charles P

I recently had some newspapers and glass slides I wanted scanned to files. I got a high quote over the phone, but was told it usually comes in under that and I'd be reimbursed. I received my materials back in a box, with no thought to the materials being at least 80+ years old, and they were folded. I did not provide folded materials. Then I got a form letter saying that certain quality checks were placed against my scans. Definitely not, as the letter mentioned photographs and 35mm slides. I was granted access to the scans and they were awfully skewed and curved. I saw the bill, and it was almost twice the quoted price. I was then told I'd have to speak with a supervisor. I did, and then 2 weeks passed... nothing. Of course they're all nice on the phone - but nothing happens. My contact then was out for a week. Somewhere along the way, someone attempted to correct the scans. I had to ask for that? They're as good as I expect I'll be getting from EverPresent, and clearly no reimbursement for unwanted scans or duplicate charges. I'm cutting my financial losses and walking away with a ****** learned. I had a really bad experience, and would not let them scan an old Polaroid now. Please be careful when paying up front. I was not and it ruined the enjoyment of this project for me.Review from JFD

I dropped off a number of slides and movie reels at a local site in August 2022. It is now six months later, and I have not received my project, nor information on its progress. Numerous phone calls and emails over this long time have produced no results. I am told to be patient. My local drop off site tried to intervene, but I have had no return call or satisfaction from the company. It was even hinted in the contact with my local site that my project may be "restarted." I am extremely disappointed in this company. At this point, I should be given some compensation for this awful service --in fact my entire project should be free! I am worried that my precious photos may be lost.Review from Greg M

We have large corporate project with about 25 years of videos and still images to transfer into different formats. We call this company to get a quote and at first I got someone own ***************, which right ways turned me off in that I thought I was calling a local company in Mass. Then I got transferred again to someone that was going to send me to someone else. Upon further checking online I find that they company only has about 2 employees. So with that in mind, we're not going to be handing over a major archive to work on...Everpresent, Inc. Response

Good morning. To whom it may concern, all confusion with this potential clients has been addressed. EverPresent employs over 80 people in *************, and we do indeed have great folks in *************** who help with answer the phones. We are currently discussing this potential project with the client and hope to earn it. Regardless, we certainly regret any confusion caused in our initial interaction and hope this review can be removed to prevent confusion for other potential clients. Not only is EverPresent a true local company, we are the largest local digitizing provider in *************!
