We were given an estimate by the company to complete a specific scope of work. The company came, but did NOT fulfil the actions outlined and additionally was destructive on our property. We tried to resolve the issue with the company directly and they deny any wrong doing. They have charged our credit card that was on file and we are now looking for assistance getting to a resolution.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. They said they did the work; they came to my property and mowed our lawn but they did not complete the work outlined on the contract AND they dumped debris in several places. We had to hire another company to come back and complete the job.

We were hired for a spring clean up at the ****** residence at ***********************************************************************************. The spring clean up was completed in all of the areas on the property including cutting back the poison ivy and wild blackberry up to the stone wall in the back of the property. ******* turned down the work for edging and ******** and said it was out of her budget, we have emails as proof. We did not provide a estimate for shrub pruning. After the spring clean up was completed which took 4 guys 4 hours to complete and we hauled out an entire dump truck full of leaves and brush, she called to complain saying the pruning, weeding, and edging was not done. No where in our paper work did she select to have this work done, she decided to add it into the work scope herself. We called to explain this and went back to the property for a walk through. After we explained that was not part of the work scope that they selected, they decided another area was not cleaned up to there liking. No problem at all and we offered to send the crew back out to take care of it, they responded with no we will do it ourselves. We offered multiple times for them to allow us to pick up a few more sticks with the response being NO. ******* blamed us for a pile of leaves in the back of the property outside of our clean up area which we have pictures of as proof. The pile was very compacted and uniform, freshly dumped leaves are loose and fluffy. They paid for a disposal fee and that is exactly what was included in our spring clean up. After reading her emails about not having the budget to cover all of the work she wanted to get done I felt bad and discounted the clean up $200.00. The work was completed and the credit card required was charged with the new discounted price. ******* emailed us stating "Let's not allow this to get ugly online with an intimidating demeanor if we did not agree to her new price". We choose not to, we do everything by the book and have been in business for almost 20 years. We do not feel this complaint is valid and is full of false allegations. Thank you, ****

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

We received several estimates from A Buckley and opted for the spring clean up that specifically included a more comprehensive clean up, but that clean up was not done. The items from that quote we are referring to include:

      - "blowing down the property of leaves....and disposal of leaves" = *PARTIALLY DONE

      - "stick removal"= *NOT DONE

      - "cutting back perennials"= *NOT DONE

      - "removing the debris from the back rock retaining wall ...and cutting back overgrowth" = *PARTIALLY DONE (very superficial)

The issue is not about weeding or edging, the bottom line is that we were given a quote for services that were ultimately not done.

I don't know why this owner is stating he was "being nice" by taking $200 off; the overall quote included specific items that were not delivered.

The owner is correct in stating that we did not allow him back; he asked us 1x (not several, as he is stating). I watched his team blow leaves over the ledge of my yard in the far right corner of our property- the quote we received stated that leaves would be removed; we do not want this company back on our property out of fear of retribution since the work was not done correctly the first time and we wrote an unfavorable review for them online.

All of the photos that were sent to us from ******* were of work scope that she chose not to accept. She never sent us any photos of this so called work that was not done. A crew was there for a half of a day and we took out an entire truck load of leaves and sticks. ******* stated they would not allow us to come back and work on the property but she did allow our sales person to come back so he could talk with her husband. There was no fear of any type of retaliation as they asked for him to come back. The story keeps changing here as the first round of complaints was we did not edge and weed the mulch beds as well as prune all of her shrubs. These were all items that she wrote in email stating that they were out of here budget. I took money off because I felt bad, I did not know at the time this was going to turn into ******* asking for a completely free clean up. No where in the world does this exist where you make false acquisitions and get free work done!

@BBB: after this response, you can close the case as I do not wish to engage with this company? The owner of this company continues to make false statements about what was done/not done and false statements about how things were handled thereafter. The lack of professionalism is what prompted us to file the compliant in the first place. The A Buckley Website touts the BBB logo on their website which suggests they are an accredited business; this is misleading and is a fair portrayal of the experience that I personally have had with this company.

We would have been happy to pay for the work that we got the estimate for; ultimately that work was not completed which is why we filed this complaint. For the record, we hired someone else to provide us with a spring clean up that same weekend (May 13th and 14th) and we were very satisfied with his work; we had no issues paying him in full and even left him a tip!

We are not expecting anyone to do work for free. However I do expect that if you provide an estimate, as a business owner it's both your prerogative and obligation to ensure that the service is done in a quality way. I gave the analogy of putting a few shingles up and then charging for a whole roof. Your team came, yes, but there are multiple examples of where things were not done properly or at expected standards or just not done at all!!! You've unfortunately taken the stance that we, your customers, are the ones in the wrong here and for this reason it seems any efforts to come to a amicable resolution are futile.

My business advice would be to work on communication with your sales rep as there seems to be a break down with what we were told as customers and what you're hearing and willing do to about it. Additionally, if a customer is that unsatisfied, rather than going on the defense, you should pick up the phone personally, call your customer and find out how to make it right.

I would not recommend this company and I would hope that the BBB not accredit them in the future.

This owner is continuously making untrue statements; for this reason, trying to find a logical solution is proving to be impossible as this owner is in denial of any wrong doing.
