    Hi. I purchased a shikifuton (mattress), sheets, comforters and pillows which all would match and go together. The duvet cover and mattress cover did not zip properly. The mattress would not fold for storage as advertised. In fact it would not fold or stay folded at all. It was not able to fold for storage as the website advertised. This feature is the precise reason why I purchased the item. The retailer agreed to give me a full refund and cover shipping charges when I explained the issue. I had offered other resolutions but the retailer was very rude and insisted he would cover the shipping and not charge the restocking fee and at his insistence I sent everything back.After I spent money on packing materials and 2 rolls of shipping tape to get the mattress to fold down into the box I returned the items to the retailer. However, the retailer did not give me a full refund per his statements. Instead, he said his items looked fine and refused to refund me in full which I relied upon in sending my items back. He only refunded $2,519.80 of the $3626.40. So the company kept $1106.60. This is not acceptable and not per the return agreement we had. It seems clear the company insisted I return everything and not offer any other resolution because they planned to keep $1100 of my purchase price despite their promises to me. On top of that they retain all of their merchandise to resell.I would have kept the items or asked for a different resolution to the problem and not returned the item if he was going to charge shipping and keep over $1100. I relied upon his statements I would be refunded in full and I would not be charged for shipping (according to him this would be in spite of the regular company policy). I expect the company to refund the remainder of my purchase per our agreement. I am earning interest now on a credit card charge for items I dont even have. If they do not refund me right away I plan to seek legal resolution and any interest charges, late fees, and legal fees as a result of not being refunded in full.

    I ordered a tatami mat on the website, thinking it was hand made and exclusive to J-Life. They don't disclose on the ordering pages that the tatami mats are actually mass-produced items made in ***** with some cardboard parts. The ordering pages imply that they had some say in the making of this product (seeing as they call it "our tatami mats" and say things like, "here at J-Life we use a traditional black cloth for tatami-fuchi",) but that is not true. After it was too late to cancel, I found the exact same mats on other websites from the same manufacturer. In fact, the mat came double-boxed: all J-life did was slide the manufacturer's box into one of their own boxes. The mats are essentially drop-shipped at double the price.
