***** from Energy Advocates continues to call me incessantly despite blocking every number as he calls from different numbers each time and uses local numbers! These are robocalls and I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST!! Please HELP!!!

      Business response

      04/04/2023

There is a well known scam involving robocalls from someone named ***** who claims to be with a company called Energy Advocates.  This is a scam.  This is not a real person and they are not calling from a real company.  No one with a legitimate business would do this.  They are trying to collect information from you that they can put in a data base and sell to criminals.
You should hang up when they call and you should file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
What you should NOT do is ****** the name Energy Advocates and choose random companies who you accuse of this with no evidence whatsoever.  All that does is further victimize innocent people.  So, no, I cannot help you.  I am not making these calls.

I do not know who this person is but he is complaining about a well known scam that involves robocalls that automatically call people repeatedly and say they are ***** calling from Energy Advocates.  This is a scam and the robocalls are looking for personal information that they can collect and sell.  No legitimate business would do this.  This is obviously a scam.  There is no real person named ***** calling from a real business called Energy Advocates.  I have had this problem before.  People who are the victims of this scam actually think they are being contacted by a real company, actually trying to do business this way.  They are not.  I have not called these people.  I do no telemarketing.  I do not engage in robocalls. People like the person complaining should not just reach out and accuse innocent businesses of trying to contact them when they have absolutely no evidence that the people they are accusing are the problem.  This person should file a complaint with the ************************ and stop accusing people without evidence.  And, I would request he stop contacting me and using the BBB to do so.  Thank you. *************************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response is rude and unnecessarily pointing fingers back at the person. I am satisfied that my issue will not be resolved and may have been directed at the wrong organization but I was following advice found about these repeated calls. Please go ahead and close this case and advise the responder person to not be so emotional.   Good luck. Issue #********. I understand that by choosing to accept / close the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

      Business response

Dear ******** - I understand you have been contacted by someone named ***** who said they work for Energy Advocates.  They do not work for me and I engage in no telemarketing.  You have been contacted by someone who is running a scam by robocalling as many people as possible. They are collecting as much personal info as they can so they can sell it to unscrupulous people to use in other scams. If you think about it, no legitimate company would do business this way.  That is why they are using a random name like Energy Advocates.  Its not a real company.  Now, the unfortunate thing for me is that you and many others like you simply ****** the name Energy Advocates, find some legitimate company to target to blame and then make accusations with no evidence what so ever.  I have had so many harassing contacts via my website that I have had to remove it from the internet.  In some cases people have threatened my safety. This has significantly hurt my business.  So, you have taken a very bad situation and made it much worse for me, the victim of these criminals.  The only thing you can do about this problem is hang up when they call you and file a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  I suggest you spend your time doing that instead of searching for other victims you can then victimize further.
